Went as a privat tour, because you can not go to these 2 places together as a group.
Costed us 160 USD, pic upfrom the old quarter.
Very beautiful place.
Can be very crowded, I would think again about going her in high season.
Came here while visiting Ninh Binh. The viewpoint cost 100000 dong to visit, and there is no shortage of visitors here. We happened to come a sunset which wasn't planned but a nice bonus. There are two view points and both have lots of people...More
The place has one of the best spots to see the region from above. Going through a newly created park (restaurants, hotels, etc) you can start climbing the 500 steps. At the beginning it is quite easy but the more you go up the more...More
This is one of the best things ive seen in Vietnam! If you are going by motorbike remember that you can park for free just near ticket office and ignore people who are forcing you to park on some parking spots and pay for that.
It's a bit of a climb, but the view is spectacular. We went late Feb and even though the rice fields below were several inches high they did not look emerald green in colour from up there. More of a patchy green with muddy water....More

Well worth the climb to see this view. Would love to go back and see it again when the rice is yellow. When we went there were not too many people. That was first thing in the morning. I would imagine once the day trippers...More
If you are in normal physical condition it’ll probably take you 30-40 min to climb all stairs, rest a bit while admiring the views (360 degrees) and walk den again.
Hope this helps! Have fun.

What ever you do don't walk to the caves. You can't get in or across the water. Workers won't get you across. Reason being you need to buy your pass at the blue kiosk center by the restaurant area near the boat docks((look for the crowds and the long line)). You need a boat pass and you need to know whether you want to visit one or both caves. Both caves are in the same area. I suggest you get a ticket for both since you cannot purchase once you get to the caves.
