Out of all three of the 'boat' experiences in Ninh Binh province (Tam Coc and Trang An) being the other two, this one was the quietest. That alone makes it worthwhile! Less to see than Trang An, but less commercial / more authentic.
That's one thing you can't deny, how incredibly beautiful your surroundings are, and for me, that made the trip worth it, that's why I was there! however, I thought we would get to stop off at some of the pagodas, like others did, but we...More
I had the privilege of visiting Van Long twice in 2018. The first time we woke up very early and did a boat ride at Van Long. The cost is about $2 for an hour of rigorous paddling by the boatsman (or woman as is...More

Although this place is a bit of a drive from Ninh Binh, it's worth a visit if you're interested in wetlands habitat. Upon arrival I paid 10k to park my motor bike and 60k for entrance fee/boat ticket. It's a bit confusing, but you have...More

The scenery was quite lovely, even in weather that is poor. When you're on the water it's extremely exposed, and may be extremely cool indeed in winter. The boats the following are quite Heath Robinson, and there aren't any life jackets as at Trang An....More

They closes at 05:00pm every day! The boat tour takes about 30 minutes! There is one entrance fee to pay 40 000 VD per person and a fee for the boat 60 000 VD. The Delacour langur can bee seen in the mountains to the right just before entering the cave! Coming out of the cave again the mountains are on the left hand side. Look carefully up in the mountains about 100 meters away for the Delacour langur. Thereare also some birds in Van Long Nature reserve! I did visit in the middle of the day birding is probaly better in the late afternoon.
