Whilst on a small yacht cruise of the Dalmatian coast our boat moored up on the promenade and we had 24 hours here and during that time walked the promenade morning , noon and night and it has a different feel at different times of day.
I am not sure how permanent it is but on the mid week days we were on the promenade there was a street market of stalls on the waterside stretching for most of its length from early morning through to late evening. A good eclectic mix of stalls and products, but my favourite was the guy selling second hand vinyl LP’s. He had some really great stuff from the 60’s , 70’s and 80’s and we spent some time rummaging through them all. We that’s when we wear st sitting in one of the many bars and restaurants which line the promenade.
Yes it does get busy, but is quite wide so we never felt it was overly crowded at any point. However, if at any point you want a bit of solace from the throng I can recommend going south across the bridge towards the marina as the pace drops on this side. It’s worth visiting the marina anyway as you get a great view of the old town churches and castle from this side and I can recommend the Garden bar by the marina, especially if you can get one of the front tables that give a great view of the boats moored on the promenade from across the water.

After visiting the impressive Cathedral, it was time to take a walk on Riva. Along the water is the wide café and yacht lined Riva. We were fortunate as it was not yet filled with tourist when we visited in late May. I don't know if the experience would have been as pleasant with a large number of visitors.

Starting from one side of the Kamerlengo fortress, it joins the Ciovski bridge. The waterfront featuring this wide promenade was perfect for walking.
At one end is the Kamerlengo fortress which was built in the 14th c and used to be connected to the city walls. From the promenade, one can see the Trogir-Ciovo bridge and many sailboats.

The atmosphere was relaxed, with locals and visitors sitting in coffee bars and enjoying the sun. There were also numerous tourist agencies selling tours to nearby islands Brac, Hvar, Korcula, Bisevo etc. Some of them are available to reserve online.

Probably the first thing to do when landing in Trogir is walk the waterfront promenade which is on the South side, then turn at the fortress and up to the the North end to enter through North gate and into the town square and main church (St-Lawrence).

The promenade is nice because it is not too commercial like in Split. Wide alleys, palm trees in the middle and boats along the way, the view is simply splendid. There is a reason it is a World Unesco site and you're not the first to discover that - expect a lot of tourists. But don't miss it either.

Having walked through the old town you come to this Riva. On the one side you had a few stalls selling bric a brac, antiques and local produce against a back drop of moored yachts. On the others side you have glimpses of the old town ending with the fortress. We enjoyed promenading and stopping off for a coffee. It wasn’t too busy on a damp Monday in May but did get busier the clsoer to lunchtime

Although most of the city is closed, the few options available for food and drink are here on the promenade. It is a wide and friendly place to hang out. Many huge yachts and tour boats are tied up by the promenade reenforcing the maritime character of Trogir.

When you get tired of exploring the Old Town of Trogir, you can move on to the southern part of Trogir by the sea. The waterfront has a long promenade running almost the entire length of the town. There’s a relaxed atmosphere compared to the old town. The promenade is lined with coffee and restaurants, while numerous palm trees provide shade. Kamerlengo Castle and St. Dominic Monastery are also in this part of Trogir.

The Waterfront Promenade in Trogir offers a picturesque setting for a leisurely walk with captivating views of the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding historic buildings. The sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the shore create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing escape. However, it’s worth noting that during peak tourist seasons, the promenade can get quite crowded, which can detract from the tranquility of the experience. Additionally, while the views are stunning, there is limited shade, so visiting in the heat of the day can be challenging. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Waterfront Promenade is a lovely spot to unwind, take in the coastal scenery, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Trogir.

Very nice stretch of concrete bordering the marina. Not particularly attractive but it does give a comprehensive look at the outside of the Old Town. Cafes on one side of the promenade and boats moored on the other side.

Waterfront Promenade is the street, which surrounds all old town of Trogir, next to the sea and located in an island. It is a nice place to walk and see the sea and leisure boats, but for me it is better to walk inside the old town in narrow streets. Also, in the promenade, you can see some churches, and at the end there the Kamerlengo Tower and Mark's Tower. Also, here it is a nice place to drink or eat something in bars or restaurants.
