A wonderful midday stop in the Manaus heat and humidity thanks to its air conditioning. Also beautiful inside. But the best part may be the active square in front of the church (between it and the Teatro). Simply fabulous - best part of Manaus during the World Cup (many cultural events, met many local residents and tourists, giant street party, etc).

I really was not planning on visiting this church, but when I left the Opera House, I looked at my watch and noticed that I could fulfill my Sunday Mass obligation so I just walked across the street and I was so glad that I did. The church was just beautiful. There are natural frescos on the walls and the paintings on the inside of the dome are stunning. Even though it's an older church, it's air conditioned so don't let the oppressive heat outside keep you away. After mass, feel free to wander around and take pictures (no flash).

There was a lot of fine details in this church from plasterwork to wood sculpture, but the LED chaser rope lights around some icons of the saints were a bit off-putting, not that I'm religious...it just looked tacky. Worth a peek inside

Relative to other churches we have visited in Brazil, this church was a standout in its simplicity and harmony. The apse was decorated with living plants and quite a beautiful change compared to most cluttered ones that look like they need a good cleaning. We sat in the the back during a late Monday morning service as people came and went and listened to the singing. There were many fans to keep the air moving and it was a good place to find a spot to rest.
Worth dropping in for a look or rest. Just across the street from the Teatro Amazonia.

Average church building and interiors not especially attractive. Just worth a very short visit after having seen the theater.

Well worth a visit. Impressive altar. A touch of Europe, and a touch of the Amazon. Delightful architecture.

Beautiful inside! It takes place in the charming Manaus city center, near Teatro Amazonas, restaurants and gelato places.

I reckon this is one of the best place to watch the matches. You were not able to be at the stadium, please, join us. Not only is it pleasurable to be here due to the matches but also because of the beauties you can find and the moving attractions the place holds at the weekends even when there is no world cup happening.

Directly opposite Teatro do Amazonas. A wonderful place to sit and contemplate either God, your family or the sights you've just seen. Make it what you will. True it's not the most awe inspiring church you'll see but the abiolity to come out of the heat and cool down is reason enough.

The church is large, and has several rooms with pulputs inside. There is nothing particular or impressive about this church.
