Their website bills this park as, “...a peaceful riverside park that borders the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia” They are quite correct about that. It is located to the west of Union Street, south of Oronoco, and north of Queen street. It is a park with several asphalt paths that wind through the park. There are several open grass-covered areas that meander through the park. One entire side of the park (the east side) lines the Potomac river. The Old Time Alexandria Harbor is on the south end or the water portion of the park and is a nice place to visit while you are there. It is considered a passive park and cannot be reserved for private use. People are allowed to use it informally provided that their use does not interfere with others using the park. When we visited there were people walking their dogs, relaxing on the lawn, and enjoying the river view. There is no fence separating the park from the town and so it seems more open. It appeared to have street parking along the union street edge of the park. Overall, it was a very nice park right along the water that added charm to Old Town Alexandria. Enjoy.

A beautiful spot of peace and quiet right on the water in Old Town Alexandria. We walked here and just enjoyed the breeze and the beautiful view across the water. See the Capitol off in the distance. The Wilson Bridge along with MGM and the National Harbor also in plain view. Great spot for a picnic or just to sit and enjoy the tranquility. Lots of dogs with their owners enjoying a beautiful afternoon. Close to everything, including tons of restaurants, shopping and parking as well.

In a busy place like Alexandria, the park offers moments of reflection and serenity. The park is small and cute. You can spend the whole afternoon watching the Potomac and boats. There are good restaurants nearby, so a stroll after dinner is also a great option. The whole area poses a challenge for parking, hence alternate transportation is a good idea. Parking garages are there too. Highly recommended for a summer afternoon.

Every time we come to Old Town, we always enjoy our walks here, also found out you can take your dogs here, the end of the park is where you can take your dogs off leash, they also provide water for the pups and plenty of benches to sit and the view, you cant beat it!

The Founders Park is located along the Potomac Riverfront next to the Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Oldtown Waterfront and the vibrant area of Oldtown Alexandria. A beautiful open space for all and is good to visit year round in the heart of the city. According to the rule, the park is really for all, no parts or the whole park space can be reserved for special or private events. Everytime I visited Old Town Alexandria, I make the point to visit the park and enjoyed the water scenes.

This area of Alexandria is beautiful, very clean and tidy, it was just behind our hotel and offered a nice way to walk to Kings St, a great piece of park to wander along the edge of the Potomac river.

Founders Park has great green space right by the water. There are many benches to take in the view. Look closely and you'll spot the Capitol Building. There is a running/walking path and a volleyball court. A few families were enjoying picnics on the grass. If you need to get away from the crowds on King Street, this is a nice place to visit.
