The Visitor's center is a welcome relief when walking about Old Town as it has an air conditioned public restroom. Its a good central point for seeing the sites of the historical places, such as Carlisle House and the Apothecary, and the Pedestrian walking area and the Harbor park. Friendly employees can provide you with tips on great places to eat and things to see. Free to use and enjoy.

The Old Town Visitor Center overlooks City Hall and Market Square and is a perfect first stop for those new to the city. And the free Trolley drops off right in front of the building. It’s housed in the historic Ramsay House but, has been updated with public restrooms and information desks. You can get information and maps as well as tickets to a bunch of tours.

Very informative and helpful information about different places to see in Alexandria with maps, etc. They answered our questions about getting around the city, parking, etc . As we qualified for a free key to the city pass as we were staying at a participating hotel, the benefits of the discounts were explained and they also offered information about upcoming events including the upcoming farmers market. Definitely a good first stop.

Located close to the waterfront this is a must stop to learn much of what is going on in Old Town Alexandria. The staff is very helpful and informative full of knowledge on the area. There are many brochures available to help plan your visit. I would even go as far to say if you want a brief history lesson on Old Town stop in.

We began our trip here after checking into the hotel. Was able to pick up maps and ask questions--we learned a lot!

I stopped by the Alexandria Visitors Center in July 2021 during my visit to Alexandria. The staff were very helpful and provided me with a booklet and map of Alexandria. I had limited time in Alexandria but if you are visiting Alexandria I recommend that you stop here first.

The best part of this building is they have a bathroom you can use in the basement. There's not much to see inside. They used to sell a "key to the city" that included admission to all the local museums. If they still offer it, then buy it because it's a good deal.

This was our first stop to get brochures. While the visit was not anything special, it was good to have a place to get information before we started our tour. The place itself need a refresh.

The Center is conveniently located on Alexandria's major shopping street. There are maps and information galore and a helpful staff. Some of the information is sketchy and when asked about this, the answers are even more sketchy. So...certainly visit the Center, but be satisfied with what's available. If you want more, stick with Google.
