This is a lovely little urban park to sit a relax under the shaded tree areas on a bench or to what the dancing waters. Free to enjoy. It sits on the top of an underground parking garage and right across the street of other tourist attractions such as the Alexandria Visitors Center, Carlisle House and the pedestrian walking area.

Large brick square with a fountain in the center during the warmer months and a Christmas tree in winter. It’s well-lit and has plenty of seating in the sun and the shade. It’s a go-to place to enjoy ice cream, and on Saturday mornings, year-round hosts a farmer’s market. Beneath Market Square, there is a large parking garage that’s open very late. Alexandria City Hall is the square’s backdrop with beautiful historic architecture and a clock tower.

Love the Saturday market, huge variety of product, very crowded, terrific way to see the locals interact with the tourists.

This was also closed. However, the open space with seating is still available as well as benches to enjoy the space. The fountain is pretty and the area is well maintained.

I just went here and I have to say the offerings of fresh fruits, vegetables, and teas was enough to keep me stocked up. I recommend bring your own bags, get there early and parking within a block should not be an issue. They do take credit cards, and there is prepped foods so you can eat, shop and get on with the sightseeing.

If you are in Alexandria on a Saturday do not miss the Farmer's Market from 9-1. Filled with foods and crafts it is hard to leave without partaking of something wonderful - in our case fresh-picked strawberries from South Carolina!

Great place to meet up or take a break from shopping. City Hall is also a very interesting building too. Excellent place to walk your dog or sit on a park bench

Great spot in historic Old Town Alexandria. You can sit and relax there or just add this to your “stroll” through the area.

Be sure to stop in for the Farmer's Market; whether you are from the area or traveling. Great selection of ready to eat goodies, coffee and of course produce. I had a really great spiced mocha for only $3.00.

Is such a quiet and peaceful place. Is great for jogging and walk around. Is located next to King Street and is just a walking distance from the hotel that I stay (Hotel Indigo, Alexandria).
