It’s a pretty nice park and has a few shrines in or around it. Definitely a little creepy at night though, wife and I took a stroll and decided to leave. Lol

Maruyama Park is a picturesque little space of green that is located very close nearby to many famous temples and shrines. We visited the location in fall, when the colors had hit the trees already, coloring them in many shades of green, yellow and red, which made for a fantastic stroll and great pictures! Very recommendable stop and perfectly combinable with Chion-In and other temples!

I'm sure this is a nice park at the right time of year, but February is not that time. It was a bit plain and the large advertising hoardings spoilt it a bit.

I came here after visiting Yasaka-Jinja, which was packed full of people just before sunset. I was hoping to see some nice foliage, but most of the leaves were already on the ground at this point. Still is was a lovely place to rest my weary legs.

Very good place to visit during spring. The park have a variety of cherry trees with different beautiful colors, besides, there is a river passing through the park with nice waterfalls.

The park was nice but since we visited in winter all the trees were barren unfortunately. We still had a good stroll and that led us to the shopping district

Noted as a "wasteland" until 300 years ago, this now beloved park is a local favorite for romantic kimono clad couples and families. Walk beyond the park into the temple area and it all gets very serenely quiet. Of particular enjoyment, the temple dedicated to Anida, with its lacy ceiling hangings and black lacquer altar furniture. No photos.

The park was famous for cherry flowers in spring and fall colors in autumn period. The small water pond thereat was nice for taking wedding photos. During our visit there by late Nov., it was crowded with visitors but the atmosphere was pleasant.

Lovely place even in the rain which was when I visited. On a sunny day you could easily spend some hours enjoying the ambiance.
