1 Day Stone Forest & Jiuxiang Cave Tour

4 reviews
Discover two of the Yunnan Province’s most spectacular natural attractions on this full-day, private tour. Meet your guide directly at your centrally located Kunming hotel, and set off in a private vehicle. Your first destination is the UNESCO-listed Stone Forest: a striking landmark that features unique limestone rock formations. After a traditional, local lunch, continue to the Jiuxiang Scenic Region: home to one of China’s most extensive cake systems. Explore the caverns by boat before returning to Kunming.

Warning: if you are elderly or out of shape then this can be a strenuous climb to the top. Go on a weekday when it is not so crowded. We had to stand in quite a few lines on the way up and down.

We took a bus followed by chairlifts up to the TOP of the hill, then walk our way down . This is the easier way to see the site. The steps were painstakingly chiselled out along the cliffs by a Taoist priest and his followers in the Qing dynasty over 90+ years, can be slippery on a rainy day. The view was good.
