There are many things to do at Seven Star Park. As with most attractions in and around Guilin the photo opportunities are endless. There are many caves to explore and the park is set up like a zoo. If you have a difficult time with animals in zoos or parks I would caution you. There is quite a bit that might be disturbing to an animal rights activist. You can have your picture taken with a live tiger, have a trained monkey sit on your head, and watch a panda play in his cage. I really liked the amazingly cute red panda. The location is pretty central but it is across the bridge on the other side of the river from most hotels. Taxi’s are cheap enough you may just want to have your hotel or hostel write out “Seven Star Park” in Chinese and then give the paper to your taxi driver. If you are staying near the main drag in Guilin you’ll probably just be in the taxi for a few minutes. Buses do connect this location but I remember the bus stop at this location being pretty complicated and difficult to discern. I would pay the extra dollar and take the taxi.

Visited the park as recommended by the local in the PM. Took the shuttle at RMB 20 from the entrance that bring me to the cave (closed at 5pm) to start w. As I am the only passenger in the shuttle, the driver/ guide explained some of the places while we drove pass. Interesting and colourful cave to start w but it is too tourism.
Board the shuttle after exiting from the cave and continue to go round the park. The shuttle stopped at some of the attractions for a quick photo shot.
From the entrance, it had a lovely bridge running across a river. Did not visited the zoo which was within the park.

I usually come to Qixing park, almost every month, it is a huge park that can take you 3+ hours to visit. Some parts of this park is under maintenance right now, some says until 2026 (repairing ancient murals, paintings, buildings, lithoglyph). But you can still see part of them and enjoy yourself visiting the Camel Hill, QiXing cave, several mountain treks, some abandoned zoo and an aircraft. DO NOT go to that almost broke down zoo for CNY50!

Do not go there, waste of money and time. Apart from this the lions ‘active’ at the Seven Star Park Circus, they have had their teeth and claws pulled out, and when not in the arena, they live in the tiny cages visible behind the stage. So please avoid going there for more than one reasons!

I am deeply saddened on learning about the darker activities at this park. The big cats are drugged, controlled with poles with metal spikes and have their claws and teeth removed for the 'shows'. This is disgraceful. Anyone who questions whether it is true should look at the Natural History Museum's (London) 2015 Wildlife Photography of the Year award winner for wildlife photojournalism.

The zoo is a garden atmosphere, green grass, shrubs, trees and flower gardens. The animal population is not only pandas, there are other animals. But the main attraction are the pandas, both mature adults and baby pandas. The zoo had several babies and adults. The babies were enclosed behind glass easily visible. The adults are in large areas each separated from each other. I was looking forward to this attraction and I wasn’t disappointed. There is an entrance fee.

We were part of a small group touring china (10 people). This was the biggest disappointment of the trip. This is a dilapidated park with two Pandas in glass rooms. So sad. The glass was dirty and scratched. I didn't even try to take a photo. It would have been a horrible representation of a Giant Panda. I would never suggest this park to a western tourist. I found Guilin to be a pretty city and loved the trip out into the country to see Yangshuo and the Impression Liusanjie. That was something everyone should see. This "park" absolutely NOT.

We visited the place as part of a touring group. We were eager to see the giant pandas but we were in for a huge disappointment. This is not a decent living space for any kind of living thing. Tiny, dirty, cement everywhere, it was a big disappointment. Just returned from our trip and noticed that the travel agency just took out the visit to the zoo from its program... probably due to the general reaction. But something should be done for these poor animals in jails. The government is spending tons of money on city parks and infrastructures which is nice but what about decent living quarters for the animals????

Is the park free to enter? Do not want to go to zoo part, just walk around park.
Thanks

I believe there is a fee as for most 'attractions' in China. I would look online for the park in both English and Chinese. I cannot remember what it cost, but I do remember paying.

Why people would go to visit a place that abuses its lions and tigers like this? 😞

This is a multi venue attraction I agree with you regarding animals- we did not view this part of the attraction- just The historic portions of the site
