The cathedral is a five minute walk form Baumann Street.
Apparently it was renovated quite recently.
The exterior is quite impressive - lots of bright colours and an impressive view of the city once you have climbed the steps. Beautifully decorated inside. The interior is quite small.

The Cathedral of Apostles Peter and Paul requires some walking off the beaten track in an area north of the main Bauman St, where's nothing else to do. Beware it's an uphill walk through a residential area.
However, it pays of as the Cathedral looks gorgeous, newly renovated and painted.
To enter it you must climb a flight of stairs on the left side of the Cathedral.
Doing that, first you'll be rewarded with a nice city panorama from Cathedral terrace due to that elevated position.
Second, entering it, marvelous frescoes and iconostasis await you inside.

This is another ornately decorated church in the city. Lots of intricately decorated walls and ceilings with marble floors. It can be crowded depending on the time of year, but worth seeing if you're interested in old churches.

Currently in renovation, you can’t see outside of the cathedral . Despite of the works you can enjoy the inside (1st and 2nd floor)

I gave this a 'poor' review only because the building is completely covered by wooden scaffolding and you are not able to enter the building. So it is not seeable in the least at present.

I guess it is historical. The outside is nice. The architecture is nice. The inside is also nice. But, nothing out of the ordinary. If you have been to some old churches with a bit of history and money, then this one is nice but nothing spectacular. I went when there was mass going on. So, the atmosphere was nice. The walls had lots of ornate ikons, etc. If you have some time worth it. If not, you did not miss much if you have been to other good churches.

An absolutely amazing church right in the heart of Kazan a short walk from Baumann Street and the Kremlin.
There are huge renovation works going on at the moment and almost the entire exterior is covered in huge wooden scaffolding. But inside is open as normal and what an utter gem it is.
The iconography is stunning, so ornate and intricate. The candles and insense give it a lovely aura and the centrepiece of labelled icons is breathtaking.
I would put this as my favourite church in Kazan so far and believe me it beats off very stiff competition!
By the way, although the exterior is largely covered, you can still get an idea of its venerable magnificence and the Bell Tower and domes are completely clear.
An absolute must see and I know I'll be back again during the few days I have left in Kazan.
