About
Our fine Panamanian chocolate is made on premises from the bean. Organic cacao grown by small farmers in the Bocas del Toro region is transformed into chocolate and presented to you in the form of exquisite truffles, bars and more. CHOX is first and foremost a chocolate shop, not a factory or tour facility; however, we would be happy to show you the chocolate making process upon advance request.

Wow! What a great experience. Small and hands on with plenty of discussion about the chocolate and process itself. They are so friendly and educated about everything they do here. I live in Boquete and will take everyone that visits me to this. Plus we left with a ton of chocolate that we made ourselves! Oh, and the cacao tea he made for us, total life changing experience for me. We bought 2 bags.

My 8 year old and I just had a chocolate lesson and it was fantastic. It lasted about 2.5 hours and I learnt a fair amount about chocolate, knowledge I can take home and will make chocolates for gifts. We ended up with 5 boxes of beautiful chocolates that we are enjoying on the rest of our trip. The owner was excellent at communication via whatsap and we both loved the whole experience. Very much recommend. Just note it is a taxi ridge in out of Boquete, so not walkable from town.

This was a wonderful, hands-on experience for us. It is a little outside of the downtown, but easy to reach via bus or cab and well worth it.
Nina and Barish are so passionate about chocolate and chocolate making, and it comes through with everything they do.
It was enlightening to understand the chocolate-making process -- it even taught us a little more about coffee-bean roasting -- and the science behind bringing out the unique flavour of Panamanian chocolate.
Whether you're a couple, a small group and even with children, everyone would enjoy making -- and eating -- their works of art.

My husband, nephew and his wife and I had an educational and tasty chocolate making class experience at Chox Artisan Chocolate. We saw the entire process starting with cacao beans and ending with delicious chocolate treats that we made ourselves. The chocolate creations were made with true artisan chocolate and were the best souvenirs for our guests to take home with them. I highly recommend this class to visitors, locals and all chocolate lovers !

This hands-on chocolate-making class was enlightening and entertaining and the high-quality chocolates were delicious! I wish I bought two bags of the Cocoa Tea--the one I brought home is almost gone.

When I came to Boquete I thought a chocolate-making class would be fun to try. I attempted to book with the highly marketed one in town. After numerous attempts, calls/emails, with no response, I searched more and found Chox Chocolates. They say everything happens for a reason and this couldn't have been more true. I had an amazing class with Nyeneweh. She explained the process from cocoa nut to chocolate. it was quite interesting without going on forever. An efficient show and tell. Then we moved on to understanding the different types of chocolate and then right into making the chocolate. The process was interesting and fun. Nyeneweh has such a passion for what she does. She is a true artisan. In looking back, I am so happy I had the opportunity to take this class from a passionate artist rather than an a commercial, high volume entity. She is competitively priced but the value is far superior! If you want a fun class to take, sign up with Chox!

I not only learned about how chocolate is made, but also about local tribes and trade! I was fascinated by the entire process and loved that I could touch, smell and taste all the way through. From chocolate liquers to cocoa tea, to tasting all the different chocolates - flavors so rich and complex, I don't know if I can go back to commercial chocolate! I especially enjoyed making my own chocolate bars with combinations of white and dark chocolates, fruits, nuts, and coconut.

My bars turned out very professional looking and sooo delicious. I had an incredible time and would recommend this experience to both adults and children alike!

My brother and I were fortunate enough to do the chocolate class with Baris and Nina. What a fantastic learning and tasty experience! They were very patient with our clumsy attempts with the pouring of the chocolate into the molds. As Baris pointed out” chocolate making can be messy, but it’s all eatable “! I would do it again in a second!
