I was fascinated by the story Marilin (the owner of the land/plantation) had to tell. If you are looking for a tour of an industrial, big-business coffee-harvesting process, this tour may not be for you. If you are looking to better understand hands-on, timeless cultivation, harvesting, processing and roasting techniques, along with a rich description of the culture of the people who do the harvesting, this is for you. I was able to experience coffee from beginning to end, with information on how planting happens, seasons, etc., through to picking ripe beans (even though we were late in the season - your timing/experience may vary, but regardless, you should still be able to do most of it yourself!), experiencing various stages of fermentation (letting the beans dry), separating the beans, grinding, roasting, and drinking a supremely satisfying, smooth, delicious cup of coffee. I was also able to walk away with some green beans I can't wait to roast and grind myself when I get home! I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic, hands-on experience with a warm, caring hostess.

I enjoyed every moment that I spent here. The good energy, the great vibes, the coffee experience, seeing it, touching it, tasting it and drinking it made me say that I will surely go back and bring my friends also.
If you are in the region, you should definitely stop by, meet the owners and connect with yourself in a new and profound way.

Thank you, ladies, for everything!

The Coffee Tour was the best experience I had while traveling in Central America and I highly recommend everyone to take it! You will be guided not only through the steps and activities involved in the creation of coffee, but you will also learn about yourself. You will get to know the philosophy, community as well as love which is involved in the process and especially in Eco Horqueta. The whole area and the view are breathtaking. Marilin was guiding me trough the experience and María Jesús accompanied us. During the tour, I did not only learn about coffee and Panamá, I also got to know two incredible women and their passions.

This coffee tour was excellent!
Marilin worked as a kid in the coffee Plantage, before she studied and moved away. Now she is back and with two other ladies running an organic coffee Plantage.

It is a wonderful experience. We learned and experienced the complete process, from collecting the coffee from the plants, drying, roasting and tasting for sure 😊.
Further we were allowed to take the coffee we roasted with us. Without additional payment! That was such a good experience. I can recommend it to all, also the ones that already did a coffee tour elsewhere. This one is different!

This place is amazing! First, let’s talk about the owner and her staff! I knew it would be a special experience when my friend and I were picked up at the airport by the owner’s mom, MariLyn. She was full of wonderful information and so willing to share! The ride from David to Boquete was fantastic! The owner, Lorraine, greeted us with great warmth and information. The core team consists of Lorraine, MariLyn and María Jesús who provides health and wellness services. Lorraine is also a Swiss trained chef and prepared amazing food during our stay, We were treated like family by everyone. Our cabin was lovely and provide a comfortable and beautiful inside and outside experience. A hammock is available on the deck and it was so calming and beautiful to sit outside and see the mountain and the sky and all the interplays of nature. The common area is very homey. I enjoyed hanging out there - inside and out! The views always took away my breath! Lorraine offers a wide variety of tour services, including transportation to and from the town. The services are reasonable priced and allow one to have an insider experience verses a typical tourist experience. This was truly an amazing eco experience - an adventure waiting for you - and it’s all about the people, the location and the food! All exquisite!

I am so glad that I found this place! It is peaceful, comfortable, quiet, and located in the middle nature. The view from the rooms is stunning. If you want to relax and distress, this definitely is the place for you. From the first day already, Lorraine and the girls made me feel like home. We had fun and inspiring conversations, from which I learned a lot. Not to mention the tears of laughter we had. I would truly recommend this place to everyone!

We found Lorraine's eco-lodge on Airbnb and we are absolutely happy about staying here for 4 days. The hosts are fantastic people that make you feel like family. Love the eco-conscious way this place is ran by Lorraine and her team. The views from the rooms are stunning and the food at the restaurant is unbelievable. This place is a gem for a relaxing nature-filled holiday.

We felt incredibly lucky we stumbled upon Eco Horqueta! It’s an amazing place, a beautifully located eco retreat (the cabins have a fantastic view of Volcan Baru!), where they serve amazing food (best food we had in Panama without a doubt, very fresh and flavorful. You can tell Lorraine is a very talented chef!). We stayed 2 nights and spent our time taking in the peaceful atmosphere, going on multiple hikes and discovering the surroundings. We wish we could have stayed longer, the owners are so nice and welcoming! If you are looking for a more quiet, get away from it all experience near Boquete I would 100% recommend staying here. Electricity is limited, but you will find all the comfort you need (hot shower, very comfortable cabins and most importantly beautiful views!). They also offer yoga classes, meditation and massages. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

Eco Horqueta was the property we had booked prior to arriving in Boquete but the map didn’t give the indication it was so remote and so far from town.
We spoke with the owner Lorraine after we arrived and she completely understood we couldn’t stay when we explained the reason for our visit was to explore the area to possibly move there.
Eco Horqueta is on a mountainside among a coffee plantation across from a volcano. The approach road is winding which makes is slow going and ends up with a very rough final stretch. There’s no electricity on the property but they have a generator scheduled for certain times of the day.
Lorraine is a trained chef and cooks the meals with dietary options available. This is part of why we chose it when the website mentioned vegan options.
Even though we didn’t stay, we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Eco Horqueta after seeing the property and picking up on the peaceful energy. There’s yoga, meditation and one of Lorraine’s business partners is an energy worker.
This is a place to unplug, relax and meditate.
We will be back for this exceptional experience.
