Escapee
About
Escape rooms started as a first-person perspective genre of video games and was popularized by Japanese Toshimitsu Takagi’s “Crimson Room”. The phenomena has come to life here in Kota Kinabalu in Escapee’s real-life, interactive puzzle games, where clues must be found and mysteries solved within a given time limit to escape the room which you are locked in.

We absolutely love escape rooms and going to them everywhere we travel. For 70 MYR for 2 people on weekdays, it's a great deal but it's really average. We did abracadabra which was well decored and not too bad, so we came back and tried Satong Games and it was awful. The room wasn't very well decored, the puzzles were all pretty boring and similar, and they could have done so much more. We also had no idea when doors were open for us.
The staff do not seem to be very engaged or care if we win or lose, or really anything there. It's a pity because escape room staff really do make or break an entire experience.

The address and location on trip advisor is not completely right!! It took us sometime to find.

So there is one in warisan square block A but the location show on the map is actually Imago shopping mall which they have one there too!! We got lucky to find this one in imago!! Good fun especially the room "Circus"

And they are doing promotion if you show the receipt of imago escape. You can play again in their other two escape room for RM20 per person. Original is RM 35-38

I would recommend the one in imago mall where have nice bar on the ground floor with live music

My boyfriend and I have recently gotten into escape rooms and these were fantastic! We loved the first one so much we immediately booked the harder room for later that evening. Thanks for a great experience :)

The gameplay is already good enough but the staffs are terrible, giving out hints and clues like they have to and not they want to, they just give out the clue and then leave without explaining further details, what kind of service is this!

Thanks Miracle K for your review. As we are newly opened in May. Our staffs are still very new. But nevertheless, we have looked into it and rectify the issues you have mentioned. We have expanded our outlets to Kuching & Brunei too. Next one coming up is in IMAGO KK Times Square, Kota Kinabalu. And in addition to our new entertainment, ESCAPEE have created a new haunted house in 1Borneo Hyper mall Kota Kinabalu. Asia largest haunted house in a mall. Over 40,000 sqft of insanity! Hope to see you soon in the near future, in order to let us serve you better. Thanks & Regards Isaac Toh +6016-8068868 Facebook - ESCAPEEKK

Played a couple of the games at Escape whilst in KK and had a great time. Went with family of 4 (including 2 older teenagers) and all had fun. The games are challenging and the atmosphere produces enough tension to make the games that little bit more challenging. A good way to pass away an hour or two on those tropical rainy afternoons. Certainly recommend Escape to all ages.

Me and my friend came across this on tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did as it was good fun! It is reasonably well priced as well - only 76MYR for 2 people making it cheaper than other escape rooms in Europe! The escape rooms are a good test of logic and having to work things out! Would definitely recommend

Love escape rooms, have done several around Asia now but this has been my least favourite. We did the mad house room, and the set up was good. However there was just too many number locks to solve and it just got a little boring! Also, the locks r quite a poor standard so even when u have got the code right they were difficult to open. Staffing needs increasing too as it was busy when we went do it took nearly 5 minutes for someone to respond to our help buzzer and in a timed game that's not great. Overall, good set up with sound effects and painted rooms, just needs tightening up.

Thanks Tessd26 for your review. As you have mentioned, we didn't expect to have so many customers coming in to play when we just open for business in April. But nevertheless, we have increased our number of staffs & changed all our defect locks due to abuse, wear & tear during gameplay. The escape room has multiple rooms, it's decently themed and have decent puzzles to solve. However it can be a little basic to some, therr was a few flaws when we went though the army mission. Overall the it was fun but could be much better in my opinion.

I love the game concept. We really having a good time and definitely will be back again since we failed to escape on time. The price per person is RM 38 (weekend, for weekdays the price is rm32) but we got rm2 discount since we like their fb page. So total for 4person : RM 144.
