I've been there when it was no tourists,
Oct 2020
Beautiful wild beach during this covid time.
Around 30 min for go down by a short and amazing trek.
Beware of snakes and massive spider! But really beautiful.
I have done with flip flop but better to take shoes.
On the beach we find some step, I guess there is another entrance but maybe not free.
We have take the way true to the forest and was free to get there.

Freedom Beach is nice right now
Dec 2020
I was lucky to go here when the beach was super clean and quiet. I imagine that it's no that way when the tourist are clamoring around drinking and swimming with fever farangness.

I walked from Patong Beach. Sure, it's an up and down hill & hefty walk but great exercise from Patong to Freedom...and then I walked back again - Freedom to Patong...but it's downhill.

If you can find your way to Avista Hideaway Phuket, just past this hotel on the right hand side there's a small parking area with bamboo sitting areas and a large gray metal gate/fence nearby. Just pass through this gate and walk down toward the beach which is on the right side. You will see it as you make you way down kind of staying to the left for trail direction. You can the beach as you descend the hill.

Once you get to the bottom you will see the adjacent beach area sand rock face that you will need to scramble over. Can be a bit tricky but not dangerous at all.

Another option is to not pass through the gray gate but keep walking along that road toward the Freedom Beach parking lot and then walk down a pathway/steps. But I do not take this option as I was advised by other's I met nearby the Avista Hideaway Hotel to use the "Gray Gate" entry because it's easier.

There are a few small stores and restaurants on the hill top road so don't worry if you need water or snacks/food...even a cold beer.

Absolutely amazing sunset
Feb 2020 • Friends
During my vacation in Phuket, we had visited this beach. We were staying at Baan Laimai Beach Resort in Patong and from there we took a tuktuk for 300 baht which dropped us at the parking area. From the parking area, we had to walk down a long flight of steps to reach the beach. The Beach has lots of rocks but not crowded which was good. We sat on the rocks and watched sunset over the sea and it was absolutely stunning view and worth all the effort we took for climbing up and down. While going back, we hired motorbike taxi for 100 baht per person to our hotel.

JUST CAN'T ESCAPE HUMAN WASTE!
Nov 2020 • Solo
I wish I could give this review 5 stars but what do you expect when instead of seeing paradise. I saw piles & piles of trash, plastic, bin bags & other waste before I even saw this beautiful & secluded beach. Breaks my heart, we really really are the real virus of this Earth. Such a beautiful beach ruined by lazy people who don't give a damn about their environment. Such a shame. I was swimming amongst trash in a turquoise paradise beach.

Favourite beach in Phuket
Feb 2020 • Family
We took a long tail boat from patong beach and stepping off on this stunning beach was like true paradise! The backdrop of palms and jungle, the perfect white sand and jade waters that are so clear!
I recall we loved it so much we made sure our last day was also spent back there. It was busier the second visit but didn’t stop it feeling wonderful. We ate freshly grilled corn with chicken from the stall, snorkelled all day which was awesome!

The first day it rained whilst there and we all initially sheltered under the backdrop before someone suddenly shouted we were wet anyway and the whole beach of people ran down back into the waters as it teamed down, the colour of the water was indescribable against the rain clouds and what a vibe ( one you want to bottle!) love this beach so much!

hidden gem! beautiful! good times! you will work out a lot!

I love the beach since its not crowded and hidden! so if you like to enjoy privacy and natural beauty - you should go there!

Its nothing around that area and takes time to go down and back! so get ready to work out! if its rainy it gets slippery as well! so watch out!

one of the best beaches around phuket! it will be closed after the susnset!

cheers!

A must visit if you’re in Phuket
Mar 2020 • Friends
I visited this beach in March and it was simply beautiful. We took a long tail boat from Patong and arranged a pick up time with the same boat that dropped us off. The beach is absolutely stunning, the water is crystal clear and great for snorkelling. You are able to get lunch and drinks there from stools so no need to take your own if you don’t want to.

great beach not far from Patong.
it's necessary a short trekking from the parking area down to the beach, but once you arrive at the beach, the view is great
