Visit The Tanzanite Experience and learn about the history, mystery and rarity of this precious gemstone, unique to Tanzania. Through a series of interactive tours and visual exhibitions, including a replica of a Tanzanite mine shaft, visitors discover how tanzanite was created, named, mined, cut, polished and graded. There is also the opportunity to purchase tanzanite direct from the source with all gemstones purchase being accompanied by a certificate by The Tanzanite Laboratory™. The museum is located in the center of Arusha Additional stores are open at Arusha Coffee Lodge, Maramboi Tented Camp, Manyara Airport, Manyara Serena Lodge. Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, Seronera Visitors center, Serengeti Serena Lodge, Kilimanjaro Intl Airport, Zanzibar Airport & Zanzibar Airport. The Tanzanite Experience is dedicated to creating a greater awareness of the rare and precious tanzanite and offers visitors a complete ‘tanzanite experience’.

We visited the tanzanite experience to look for some tanzanites. This place is absolutely beautiful ! Ibrahim first took us around the museum and took his time to explain the process of mining, polishing etc. He then explained and guided us on how to pick the right stone. We bought two gorgeous tanzanites and I'm absolutely in love with them ! They give you a laboratory certificate with the details of your gemstone, they also give you a duty free certificate which means you don't have to worry about being bothered at the customs ! Ibrahim was very helpful and we would definitely recommend the tanzanite experience if you're looking for some genuine tanzanites !

I had a wonderful experience with The Tanzanite Experience. As a lover of fine-jewellery, I knew I wanted to invest in a special piece during my trip and did a fair amount of research before visiting. I stopped by the museum in Arusha which was also great, before taking a look at their loose stone collection. I found a stone I fell in love with, and after chatting with my wonderful sales associate Joy, I decided to go ahead with having a bespoke necklace made. I was able to meet with the jeweler who would craft my piece, and also access the stone for myself and was super impressed with the quality.
Despite it being over Easter the team were super accommodating, ensuring they understood the exact details of the of the piece I wanted, and being able to meet me at Kilimanjaro Airport with the finished piece. Joy kept me updated via Whatsapp through out the process, sharing pictures of my piece as soon as it was completed which I loved.
Since receiving my necklace I have worn it everyday - I am so happy with the quality of the piece. I was super specific about little details I wanted and they executed each of these perfectly.
If you're looking to invest in Tanzanite or Tsavorite jewellery I couldn't recommend them more!

Yasmin couldn't have done better, helping me to find a beautiful pendant and ring in Tanzanite, within my budget. Tanzanite is so pretty and so much more valuable (to me at least) than diamonds!
If you are lucky enough to be in Tanzania (preferably not doing the Kilimanjaro hike!) it's worth opting for an add-on safari, which is how I ended up with Yasmin and the Tanzanite Experience, which shows how Tanzanite is found, mined and crafted to make beautiful jewellery. (And the "offcuts" are used to create pretty, but less expensive jewellery - so I bought a necklace too).

I recently purchased a piece of jewelry from The Tanzanite Experience, and it was wonderful; plus the jewel was beautiful! The team was very helpful and answered my questions very quickly, seeing as I was 12 hours behind them in time zones. I highly recommend The Tanzanite Experience for all your tanzanite purchases!

Yes.
I have a beautiful ring with a brown quartz center stone ): I just need to get the stone measured and they can send me options on colors and pricing and ship me the stone.
They also have a service were you could send the ring to their Dubai location and it could be set for you. Good luck!

The rings normally start from USD180 depending on the type of metal used (silver, gold or platinum), size, colour, clarity and cut of the stone and details of the ring itself. Some are embedded with Diamonds while others with Zircons.

Hi, yes The Tanzanite Experience was open in 2011 with a museum and shop however since then it has gone under new ownership and has had a total refurbishment with the museum being much more interactive and featuring a life size replica of a tanzanite mine shaft now. What do I need to bring from the States so I can choose Tanzanite wisely? Color charts, price suggestions? I'm going next week and want to select good quality for myself and my daughters.

Thank you very much for your question. At The Tanzanite Experience you will be given a full guide to Tanzanite which includes the grading scale and how tanzanite is graded (similar to the diamond scale). The team will be able to show you a large range of stones in different shades, sizes and shapes so you will be fully informed and able to make your selection.
Therefore you do not really need to bring anything with you unless there are any specific styles of jewellery you are thinking of having the stones made into. Some visitors like to bring pictures of what they are thinking of so they can choose a stone that suits. But a lot of people will choose their stone and then when they are home will look at designs.
In addition to stones there is also a wide selection of tanzanite jewellery at the stores if you prefer.
