We had an excellent final safari day in March, having a very special experience with a lone bull elephant. We saw a baby hyena 'attacking' it's Mum's tail, and saw two black rhinos.

After seeing Serengeti, we didn't expect much from Ngorngoro but we were pleasantly surprised. Lots of lions, right by our vehicle and elephants, buffalo, hippos. Completed our "big five" experience by seeing black rhinos here.

However, you need a 4x4 car and have to know the way (there are very little indications in the NCA to find your way) and be sure your car will not have any problem : you can not get out of it during safari !!
I would really recommend to go with a local driver. I can recommend serengeti big cats safari agency which is great and not to expensive.
