A typical tourist area but it’s beautiful and lots of things to do and places to eat and drink. We’d go back in a heartbeat. The beach is beautiful and the Main Street safe and fun.

Haeundae Beach is the "it" beach of Korea, but I honestly think that other beaches that are less populated are more favorable (i.e. Seogwipo in Jeju and Gwangalli in Busan). It is a manmade beach situated next to the city and hosts a giant and very impressive sandcastle festival in April/May. Note that during the peak summer months where weather is warm, the beach is known to be very crowded.

Our group visited this in the night time, so the building view from the beach was spectacular. It was late autumn so temperature was very low.

We came there in November 2022 with great weather: around 18° - 22°. We stay at 89 floor of hightest building in here. The view from the room are beatiful. Not so many people travel on this time, so the traffic almost quite. We walk around the beach road to find some thing drink and found many restaurant and pub in here with sea view.

This beach really famous with Korean movie and traveler.

Wide beach. A break from city noise in the autumn. Take a walk and have a doughnut at the aveny leading up to the metro. At the very end of the beach to the east you will find some of the nicer restaurants (try walking up from the beach)

This is the most popular tourist area in Busan. The beach itself has soft deep sand. The ocean has strong surf and strong under tow in certain areas. The Main Street is comprised of hotels, restaurants, cafes. It is full of tourists and really loud. I would not want to stay at a hotel on the main promenade. Overall this is a fun area and lots to see and do

Okay place to visit, it is full of people. I saw people openly making their drinks on beach. However, windy and fresh air, good for an one time visit. The place has very good restaurants, must visit for food lovers.

Haeundae and Gwangalli beach are popular with tourists from Asia and Western countries. Stretching between Westin at the border or bridge to Gwangalli and Ananti-Mipo fish market, Haeundae is on the edge of both traditional Busan and the modern (think Busan X Sky). Besides typhoons like Mami and Hinnamnor, these were solely spared and helped sustain the entire nation with U.N.-sourced supplies and food during the Korean War. Therefore, I will give food-info before visiting the surrounding traditional markets, between Benikea Haeundae across from Paradise/ Grand Josun hotel (Gunam-ro 41 beon-Gil to Gungdong 1-ro). First of all, Koreans have never eaten strange mammals like cats or rodents, so do not worry (and after Chinese medicine, a certain dog species’ organ was seen only to treat men’s prostrates). Second, Koreans were historically vegetarians/vegans, and do not consume large sea mammals like Japanese do, e.g., dolphins and whales defended by the Sea Shepherd. Until recently, seafood and vegetables grew to be staples with eggs during the late Joseon era (and on Jeju later pigs), as well. (Only after the U.S. pushed mad cow disease-tainted beef on Korea, which was discarded wholesale, in protest Koreans began replacing the meat often with pork.) Check out bbq meat or grill houses with ease, and unlike in North America, hotels are popular dining places with locals for the best views and meals. Gwangalli is closer, but both are about a half hour by subway train from Busan/KTX station. (Listen for the seagull cries with English subway overhead announcement.) After a twelve minute walk from the station—exit 5 being closest to buses, follow the boardwalk to catch a cruise behind Mipo-side water breaker-barrier East of Busan X. Or, take a short train ride from there to Yonggungsa Temple on the ocean. It’s a view you can’t beat!
