Do give this place a visit if you’re in Batam and looking for kid activities. I went with my family including four kids 9, 6, 3 and 3 months old plus grandparents. You can go first thing in the morning once you’ve check that weather is clear and it won’t rain. The 165k entrance fee allows you to check out the various enclosures and feed the animals - rabbits, guinea pigs, deer, koi, parrots, even touch the snakes (eek). There was a sleepy crocodile and some peacocks and eagles to look at too. My kids really enjoyed the experience there. We stay for about 2.5 hours including having a quick bite at the cafe.

We went to feed the animals, it was such a wonderful and fun outing. We had parrots on our shoulder, carried snakes, fed cute rabbits, guinea pigs and fish. Tickets come with voucher to use at their cafe. It was a very lovely experience for the kids/anyone who loves animals. Will be back to try the hiking next time.

I took the Semar Hike experience and never regretted it one bit. Despite it being a short 2km hike, hiking in the rain was an experience to never forget. Anbika, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgable, sharing with us the different plants commonly found in the Nature Reserve. Also was given the opportunity to feed the deers inside!

Super fun tour! We went on the Semar hike as we wanted to have a taster of the experience. Our guide, Andika, made the simple hike very enjoyable with his jokes, sharing, and friendly personality. He also showed us different plants and insects and explained what they were, and ensured our safety at all times. Deer sanctuary was a small but cosy place to see and feed the deers. Would come back again to try the Pandan or Palawan tour!

We took the Semar hike with our guide Adika on a bright sunny afternoon. It was a fun walk that lasted about an hour along easy forest trails, and culminated in a visit to the Sambar deer park. The guide shared fun facts, pointed out interesting plants and animals along the way. Would recommend as a good alternative to the usual spa and shopping in Batam.
