The museum is very organized and worth the admission fee which comes with a booklet and a refreshment. You can roam each themed building and interact with their local artists onsite. The place is clean and well maintained. The staff are very hospitable. I like their Apple OC dessert paired with iced latte.

I'm not exactly sure how to describe this place. The property is huge and contains the Agung Rai Museum of Art, multiple performance stages, and a large resort. The Museum of Art is in two main buildings, and contains an eclectic collection of traditional and contemporary works of Indonesian art. The property exudes tranquility and harmony with nature. As my guide and I were moving around the property we met a gentleman sitting on a bench and initiated a short conversation. It appeared that he might have been an employee taking a little break ...... but it was Agung Rai himself!!!!!! It was immensely refreshing to see first-hand how involved this man is with his Balinese community and his desire to share it with the world.

We went to a dance performance on a Wednesday evening, the staff were charming and helpful and sat us down in the front row.
The performance was amazing, the musicians played with pin point unison, some without even looking at their instruments.
The dancers were incredible, their movements making sense of the musical rhythm.
I was spellbound from start to finish.

The galleries themselves are nice, if a tad limited in scope. The gardens and grounds are a hive of activity: children practicing Balinese dance, Westerners learning traditional art, craftsmen restoring stonework, artists sketching. All in all, very pleasant to walk around for 90 minutes or so.

This art museum in the center of Ubud is a gem. It is filled with important works by Balinese artists that span many generations and traditional mediums. The owner of the museum is often on site and available to converse about the mission of the museum. He is a fine man; genuine in his love for Bali and the artists whose work he helps to promote and preserve. One feels welcome, protected and inspired all at once!

The museum was next door to our hotel. Gorgeous grounds to wander around. The art is beautiful too. Agung Rai was sitting on a bench enjoying the day when we were there and graciously allowed us to take his picture with us. He has done a lot to keep the culture and traditions of Bali passed along to the younger generations.

What a magical place, even in driving rain! Amazing art and beautiful buildings, but the gardens and water systems surrounding this beautiful complex and true art. A good half hour walk off the main drag, so wld recommend getting a taxi to save your legs. A traditional slice of old Bali, and precious.

there are 2 museums inside ... one traditional and one modern art. The area is surrounded with lush green gardens and very cool. we were given booklets about the museum and free coffee / drink coupons after we bought the tickets.the paintings were very beautiful. some kids were having music lessons there that time and overall its a pleasant experience to learn more about Bali history , beliefs and how it has evolved with time.

one free drink can be availed any time with the coupon you get at the gate with ticket.A guide book is also given which contains this place's history and events. This place is located with lush green garden and surrounded by paddy fields. One can gain a lot of insight from the cultural museum about the folk tales , growth of Bali culture . There is also a modern art museum which was also awesome. We visited here in the afternoon after visiting Goa gajah as this is located near by. The temerature here was cool because of greenery. This is an arts and culture's mix of modern and ancient true Bali culture.
