About
Banaras (Varanasi/Kashi) is the mosaic of Indian culture with respect to representing the diversity and the distinctiveness of the regional cultures of India through superimposition in the passage of time. People from all parts of India, speaking different languages and dialects and carrying their own traits, taboos and traditional have settled in this city. Ultimately they accepted Vishvanath Shiva as their main deity. In Banaras alone, there are over 3600 Hindu shrines and temles, 1388 Muslim shrines and mosques, 42 Sikh temples, 12 churches, 3 Jain temples, 9 Buddhist temples and several other sacred sites and places. it is said 'by seeing Varanasi, one can see as much of life as the whole India can show'; but it is not easy to comprehend for those who stand outside the Hindu trandition. The stories of Ganga would change, but the motherly river lives on. The 6.5 KMs long riverfront of river Ganga in Varanasi, possesses a unique history, specific vision of magnificent architectural row of lofty buildings and holy sites. In a way, the city of Banaras is perceived as an intellectual laboratory of humanity where any aspects of life, from past to future, tradition to modernity, chaos to order, realization to revelation, perspectives to prospects, illusion to vision, death to life, displacement to settlement...and so on,... can easily be seen, envisioned, portrayed, purveyed, and also presented a model frame for step forward in understand and co-sharing by making bridge between locality and universality, and also between humanity and divinity. The merit of Varanasi lies in the fact that there is so much for every need and every mood, that there can be no one who returns from here less than inspired. We, Groovy tours, has specialized division to cater to the needs of all types of travelers; whether it is a guest looking for safety and security of escorted group tours, or someone seeking exclusive customized tour package, business traveler, a pilgrim or someone just looking to walk in the hidden alleys of one of the oldest living cities on the planet.Lets explore Varanasi with us!!!

We did Varanasi and Bodhgaya with Nandan. Varanasi is a very mysterious place and I think it's not possible to explore it without having a local show you around. Nandan took us around the old city, explained every little detail and presented his city in such a wonderful way that it became one of our best traveling experience. Bodhgaya and Barabar caves were also outstanding. We got to meditate in the same cave where Buddha meditated for several years. We also visited Barabar Caves which just blew out mind away...Mauryan era polishing on granite wall and the eco effect inside the caves were just outstanding!
Nandan also helped us booking our hotels and arranged a taxi with a very nice driver.
It was a great experience and we hope to return again in future!

Nanthu baiya was an amazing tour guide. He patiently explain the significance of kashi during the walking tour and also the panchkroshi yathra. We are very thankful for seamlessly completing the yathra with him. He was very patient in answering our questions and also take care of us from scammers. We were late to airport on the last day and almost miss the flight, he assisted us with the last minute arrangement. Thanks baiya for your hospitality and dedication. Highly recommended tour.

I had visited Kashi during Dev Diwali and we had a wonderful experience. We did a 1 day Banaras City tour with Rajanji. He had excellent knowledge about the place, very engaging and enthusiastic. He went out of his way to customize the tour as per our needs. He was very punctual and patient with all our questions about the city.

The olden part of the city is most beautiful during the early hours, and we enjoyed our walk, visiting various temples and historical sites of Banaras. Right from the morning aarti to the boat ride, and the walk through the city streets was a wonderful experience. Thanks to the connections of Rajanji, and Nandanji and Priyaji, we managed to get a boat ride on the night of Dev Diwali, and it was a wonderful sight.

I would definitely recommend a walking tour of the city with them, and while on tour also enjoy the delicious snacks and tea Banaras has to offer. And more than anything, the warmth and hospitality of all the people there was amazing.

"Shiv is not in Kashi , Kashi is in shiv"

As an outsider the beauty, soul and spirit of varansi would have been missed by me had it not been for "Nandan bhaiya" as I like to call him.

I took north and south walking tour with boat ride and sarnath tour with him. He understands multiple angles of banaras from history, sociology , religion and spirituality and can offer whichever set of eyes you want to view Kashi.

Nandan bhaiya has a treasure of knowledge, unparalleled enthusiasm, a mind of a researcher and he made sure to cover the entirety of my north and south banaras walking tour with full thoroughness.

I 100 percent recommend for you to avail the honour of his company in the path of viewing the magical mystical town where I left my heart ❤️.

Thank you Groovy tours

We spent two days with Nandan as our guide in and around Varanasi.
Our experiences in a local village and its school will remain with us for years to come. Nandan’s genuine relationship with this village and his willingness to share his life experiences with us gave us a special insight into the real India.
Nandan’s tour of Sarnath was perfect for us - an accessible amount of information on the history and important parts of the sites. We have a tendency to tune out either too many facts and dates - this did not happen with Nandan. He also told us some observations of images of Buddha that will stay either us - fun facts!
Nandan guided us through Ghats and Alleys to hidden gems that I think tourists would never find. Nandan’s generosity and strong network provided us with food and alternate accommodation when none was available.
He is flexible, knowledgeable, honest and keen to ensure our interests and comfort were met.
I give him the highest commendation as a trustworthy, caring, reliable and knowledgeable guide.

I had a great tour with Nandan. As a solo female traveler, I was completely comfortable with Nandan. We toured the old city in Varanasi one afternoon, and the depth of his knowledge was just amazing. It was the right level of insights without being too much, and his enthusiasm for architecture and history made it all very enjoyable. The next day we went to Sarnath, the site where Buddhism originated. I came in knowing a decent amount about Buddhism and was thrilled to learn so much more. He really knows his stuff and makes it an easy, enjoyable experience.
