Gr8 place to spend some leisure time at a peaceful place in the lap of nature. Just close to the mall road at a walking distance with Parvati river next to it.

You might feel it is bit costly and Some time amenities inside doesn’t function but Trust me if you are here to Roam around in the Nature this the Place and also You can try A small trekking from Manali Mall Road to Hadimba temple through Jungle trails a Beautiful experience I loved visiting here more often by Trekking.

Cold Breeze and Greenery unlimited will impress until you reach Hadimba.

Must visit

I would definitely recommend taking some 40 minutes out for a gentle stroll through this forested path marked by tall trees. It is one of the loveliest and most peaceful stretch of walk in Manali!

First of all it's not manali sanctuary, It's Van Vihar. This is the worst place to visit with ticket entry. Just waste of money. It's just a normal park where you would only find a lake which is also not operational for boating all times. If you really need a leisure time in nature, I would suggest to visit Manali Nature park which is even free of cost to visit. Manali nature park can look creepy sometimes as not much people visit this park, but I assure you that it is safe in all aspects and way more beautiful than Van vihar.

Van Vihar is located pretty close to the Mall Road and quite a popular destination among people visiting Manali, Actually the major rush was at the ticket counter, food stalls n boating area. Ideally one should trek further down the trail ,,, which was really fun, not many people around ... you can enjoy nature n click pics :)
The trail is well marked, with information on trees, animals, birds etc and music speakers at some distance. You can sit n relax and then keep walking
The pine trees were really tall and there r quite a few, you dont hear the traffic or city pollution. The boating area was actually not great, we left this area within few minutes. There is a snacks shop near the entry/ exit gate which was quite busy, there are enough swings for kids to hang out ... and enough seating benches etc. I would recommend a visit once in Manali. I think the ticket was INR 25 for adults n INR 15 for kids, no ticket below 3 years.

Very well maintained park that has tall pines and some decent play activities for kids. Good place to walk around before your meal at one of the city restaurants (very near, u just need to exit the park) or try the river side adventure (inside the park).
