On 29 Dec I reached Diu from Somnath. Diu is around 100 kms from Somnath and can be done in a day return journey. The fort is beautiful and strategically located along the sea. It was built by the Portuguese in 16 th century. Now the fort is being supervised by ASI but it lacks proper maintenance. However, it is surrounded by tbe vast ocean and from the top of it , beautiful pictures can be captured. Those who want to stay close to the fort have many good options along the sea. I did not spend my night there but Diu in night will give a lot of pleasure. So visit Diu with atleast two days programme.

A fort reminiscent of history, most known for huge gaps between wall and pathway making it difficult for invaders. The entrance is magnificent but inner fort mostly in ruins is a good view point, fascinating photographers. Located at sea side, is famous tourist destination.

Top attraction is a shoe string town of diu, right besides the ocean. lots of clicking spots. it has 2 watch towers so make sure you climb them and click pictures and view the majestic sea.

there a huge cliff behind the fort so see it as well . lot of pre wedding shoots happening in the morning. On the best places for view the sunrise.

Pro tip : lot of stags roam around drunk in the day time so keep family together.

This fort is quite huge and bigger and better than other Portuguese Forts at Daman and Aguada Fort at Goa. So much to see here with almost 3 sides to the sea. The fort was being restored at few sections when we visited it in Feb 2023. The approach road and the car parking section is in shambles.

This is good place to roam around and click photos with sea, Pani Kotha (the old island prison) or lighthouse in the background. No entry fee. It has a considerably large area. You can spend sometime climbing from one wall to another. Lot of walking, I won't recommend this on a hot afternoon.

We were with friends and we planned to go to Diu Fort and we went there, it was good place and location was also super. There is no entry fee to enter to Fort. After entering into the fort we have walk too much to see entire fort. So for elder people it might be a problem. For youngsters it is good spot for photography.
