TU-142 is a maritime reconnaissance & anti-submarine warfare aircraft which was in the service with Navy.

The cockpit & seating arrangement is different as compared to the other transport aircraft. For above 25 member group, they provide a guide (like for us). Others have to be happy with headset audio guidance.

The guides covered the parameters, capabilities etc quite well.

One can also try simulator machines by paying an additional sum.

This is a great museum to know about the TU 142 air craft. This is one of the best Navy air craft. Free audio guide will be provided in the entrance. You will come to know about complete details about the air craft. At the end you will also get a chance to see the inside of the actual aircraft.

This is really a great museum.

Visiting Vizag recently we were told to visit the Tu-142 aircraft museum down by the coast. My colleague and I decided to heed the advice and spent a pleasant hour walking around the museum, aircraft and the getting a feel for the place.

The museum is set-up to give you an overview of the aircraft, the significance of its use and some historical understanding overall. The place has translations for most items with the free handsets providing a nice touch to get an overview of the many exhibitions.

The best part for me was entering the Tu-142 Albatross and walking through the aircraft. It provides a unique experience of how cramped these machines can be and makes you appreciate the confines that staff find themselves in for long periods of time.

I would highly recommend a visit to the Albatross and definitely where young kids would be joining.
