We visited this museum during our tour of the city and surrounds. While driving, our guide explained that the museum was previously part of the Central Bank of Ecuador but since October 2010 it was transferred to the Ministry of Culture of Ecuador. The museum...More

Best part of this tour was when it was over, they had a fresh coffee grinder selling coffee to drink or grounds to take home with you, not worth the stop.

This multi-story gallery has some pre-Columbian clay and stone artifacts but without much explanation. Gives a little insight into the indigenous peoples, (they used balsa rafts to trade up and down the coast) which is interesting. They need more funding for sure. Worth a visit...More
