the museum is very interesting for music interested people
Dec 2019
The museum is on Gulangyou island so to get there you must take a ferry from main Xiamen island. To the museum is leading a beautiful seawalking promenade built by the owner of the home to remember important date in life of his family. Inside we can see a big collection of pianos from various countries and times. Worth to see both for young and old :)

Expect the unexpected is the story behind Gulangyu Island; example is the Piano Museum
Oct 2019
The Piano Museum was interesting with antique and vintage pianos, including Steinways and player pianos. There were also some live performances.

If you like pianos, this is the place for you...

Actually quite interesting! That's of course if you can get into Gulangyu Island to see it. Once there enjoy the fact there are no cars there. It's a very picturesque place to go

Lots of old, unique pianos
May 2019 • Friends
There's not much to see except some unusual old pianos with unique designs. The only writeups are about the families or musicians who owned/played them, which is only interesting if you have a deep interest. Nonetheless, I saw types of pianos I had never seen before, including one that's folded to fit into a corner. So if you have loads of time and are looking to get out of the heat for a bit, give it a visit

Tired place
May 2019 • Couples
It’s a paid visit and the attraction is part of a larger park within the Gulangyu island. The place celebrates all things piano and has a huge selection of old pianos that dates back to the late 1800s. With all these collection, the place seemed a little dated and the display was just that - pianos. It could have been made more interesting by digital text and stories but well, the air con environment is a good break from the heat outside, all things being equal.

A Piano Museum!
Apr 2019 • Friends
This is the first time I've visited a museum that houses pianos! The Piano Museum is an attraction located on Gulangyu island. The pianos in the museum all belong to a solo collector,Hu Youyi, who loved pianos so much that he collected them from all over the world. There are two quaint little pianos that were built just for kids under 10 years old! The star piece of the museum is a gorgeous harpsichord that he purchased from Australia. There are about 100 over pianos on display in two buildings. It's worth the visit to see the effort, passion and finances of one man's collection, even though you may not be interested in pianos!

So interesting
Apr 2019 • Couples
I was fascinated at some of the pianos on display and reading at how old some of them were. But note, that for most people, it will just be a walk through. There are two buildings that house the pianos, plus a walkway. There are also 2 entrances to the property, although most people enter through the main gate into the Shuzhuang Gardens east gate. The entrance ticket includes the park and museums, but note that you can also buy a 3 in one ticket, which works out cheaper, for the main attractions

Pianos of different eras
Dec 2018 • Couples
The piano museum in Xiamen is located in Gulangyu inside shuzhuang garden. The pianos are displayed in 2 different buildings, one floor for each building. It is basically a display of pianos made during different periods of time. Unless you are a piano expert or have a good guide with you, it is very difficult to really understand or appreciate the differences. The explanation in English are few and do not give enough to stimulate interest.

Cool collection

Within the grounds of Shuzhuang Gardens were two buildings of the piano museum that had an extensive collection of unique pianos that would impress even the non-musicians.
