About
Some may find it over-powering, but if you're looking for where everybody is, then Pub Street it is. Lined with restaurants and bars selling cheap beer and reasonable food. Later on, the music starts thumping and there's often almost a party atmosphere. People watching is free.

Pub Street is a single street in Siem Reap that has many bars and restaurants. After walking down the street and eating something and/or drinking something, there is not much more to do there.
I was in Siem Reap for a Bike Tour of the area including the Angkor Wat and other Temples. In the evenings we would walk around the area near Pub Street to get something to eat and a few drinks and then call it a night.
Make sure to consider the restaurants in the area (not just Pub Street) are there are some very good places to eat or drink at that are not on Pub Steet.
If you are in Siem Reap make sure to visit Pub Street at least once, to say you were there.

To be honest this was pretty average, not a huge area and it was surprisingly that all the street food available was sweet such as fried ice cream rolls but nowhere oher than the bars offered savoury food. We had a few cheap angkor draughts in a few pubs and enjoyed a bit of people watching but didnt stay longer than an hour

It puzzled me how this cancer of an entertainment strip could end up right next door to one of the greatest cultural sites of the world.

Definetly add this landmark to your itiniary if in Siem Reap, as it is a great way to spend a few hours. We went at sunset and stayed for a few hours (not into the late night scene) and thoroughly enjoyed our time there (good food and drinks, night markets, local/pub music, and all sorts of other random stuff). However, this is a walking street, so don't expect too much different if you have been to another.

Pub Street gets a bad review for being noisy and brash but 1. It’s not any noisier than any area in Europe that is open at night, and 2. it is fascinating to see the types of bars and stalls that are western-targeted. My boyfriend isn’t a drinker, so when we visited, we stopped at a stall making ‘ice cream rolls’ which were like thinly frozen ice cream curls. It was fun!

Just a tourist trap with relatively expensive food and drinks accompanied by deafening music. Majority of establishments are owned by one company (temple).

Pub Street is lined with bars. During happy hour some sell draught beer for as low as US$0.50 a glass. Rest of the time, easy to find US$1-1.5 per glass Cocktails - expect to pay US$2.5 to 5 depending on the venue.

Funny thing is, if you look up Pub street on Google, and look at the map, it is actually Street 08. But it is a cross road. If you continue over the bridge, that will take you to a night market.

Hello,
As far as I remember and if the place still there, there is a Scottish sport bar. Anyway is quite common today. So you will certainly find a sport bar over there.
Have fun

My wife and i are going to be in Siem Reap before a Mekong River cruise in August , was wandering do we have to bring US dollars or can we bring Aussie dollars and change it there in to the local currency Riel, also how many days would we need to stay and do a few Temples , Markets and any Tours extra , what else can you do.

You should bring USD as it's a second and official currency in Cambodia. Bring small notes as most of the restaurants don't take 100 dollar bills.
I will suggest you to rent a Tuk Tuk (always bargain the price) for a day tour. One day pass which costs you 37USD is good enough or 3 days pass for 62 USD. And you can also do the floating market. The pub street and night market are popular. I stayed there for 4 days and I think it's pretty good. The Home Indochine D'Anglor hotel is pretty good.
