A well done tour that really introduced us to both the Cambodian countryside as well as the Big Lake and it’s village. Transportation was comfortable, snacks were fun, and the sightseeing was definitely “only in Cambodia”. Our enthusiastic guide was the icing on the cake. Overall a great experience and good value

Really enjoyed seeing “life on the lake” after the flooding. My tour guide was well spoken and able to share a lot of insight I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. It was quite fascinating being the only foreigner there due to Covid restriction. I recommend a visit if you have at least 2 days in the town.

After having studied about Tonle Sap during high school, it was amazing to have seen and been at this place in person! Awesome experience! And to have watched the sunset as well...?! I mean... totally speechless at that moment. I’ll forever remember THAT moment. Highly recommended.

Wow! That is so lovely you learned about our lake system in high school. Yes, it is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and unique in its changing direction. It is extremely important as it feeds our entire country and we are very grateful for the opportunity to share with you. Thank you again for your participation and kind review and wish you and your family all the best!

The minority stilt village is open to tourists enroute to Tonle Sap Lake. Highly recommend walking through the village for 30 minutes to meet the children who enjoy life to the fullest. Bring soccer balls, pumps, notebooks, pencils, and candies for the children; they'll flock to you and be very appreciative. Bring as many items as you can carry. You'll be happy you did!

Well worth going away from all the people in the towns to the quiet of the lake. Our AboutAsia guide took us for our final morning in Cambodia to the fishing villages on stilts by theToni sap lake.Kampong Phluk shows you how these people live high up in their houses on stilts with the women and young children at home and the men out fishing. We were fortunate to climb up a house ladder and see their home which was much bigger than we thought it would be.In the rainy season the river has been known in a bad year to go over the roof tops.Very cheerful people in the houses smiling and waving. Our guide gave them a little money to say thank you. Then we returned to our car and were driven to the boat where we had a quiet couple of hours on the lake and a picnic. We learnt more about the dreadful civil war fought between the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnam Kong.So many people died.

Thank you for participating on a tour of The Tonle Sap Lake. We are glad it was informative even if it is a difficult history. It is important to learn the true history. Thank you again and best regards from Siem Reap.

We splurged on a private tour to the less-touristy Kompong Khleang & loved it. Our guide (Arun) & driver (Mr Pin) were both fantastic & friendly, Arun explained everything & was able to answer all our questions. We went with Beyond Unique Escapes. The local village markets were eye-opening, & seeing the village during the dry season with all the houses high up on stilts was amazing...it would be equally amazing to see it during the wet season when you'd need a boat to traverse the main street! The people were friendly & we loved this taste of traditional everyday Cambodian life. I highly recommend this tour & this tour company, we loved it.

Loved our experience on the lake. It was fascinating to hear about the local's lives and have them take us through this journey. Strongly recommend if you are in the area and seeking an authentic travel experience! Amazing value! Make a request for the guide Mr. Saro- he was great!

Thoroughly enjoyed our Kompong Khleang Private Tour. It was a rural and very authentic floating village. Didn't see many tourists just locals. Guides was animated and passionate and we got lucky with a great sunset. Definitely worth doing after the temples.

Met by Sreyneang at my hotel, we took a tuk tuk away from central Siem Reap to a homestead where we then spent time learning how to roll incense the traditional Cambodian way. A real family experience and such a beautiful way to spend a morning. Took a bundle of incense to a local pagoda, not a tourist hotspot, spent some time chatting with locals and the monks there and received a traditional water blessing.
Such a lovely, relaxing way to see local Cambodian life, with Sreyneang really making the trip. Can't recommend enough!

We did the Kompong Phluk Tour with The Tonle Sap Experience.
Before that I had read a lot about the floating village tours and compared many companies. We choose The Tonle Sap Experience because we wished to get a glimpse at the everyday live of camodian people outside the busy siem reap and support the local people as well.
And we were not disappointed.
We were only two people on our tour and our young guide sreyneang - a very joyful and clever cambodian lady - not only provided us with a ton of interesting information about the community, but we had really good conversations about cambodia and ecotourism too.
We visited a local market, a pagoda, the floating village kompong phluk, the flooded magrove forest and we saw the sunset at the tonle sap lake!
I think our tour was as authentic as it gets at Kompong Phluk and it was the perfect closing for our stay in siem reap.

I strongly recommend doing this tour to support The Tonle Sap Experience on their mission to do authentic tours which support the local community and not a big travel company!
The price is very good as well, especially because everything was provided, even the local snacks were payed by our guide.

We had a blast and wish only the best to sreyneang and the rest of the team!

Greetings from Germany
