A beautiful position by the sandy shores overlooking Manama. A token BD 1 to get in and we’ll worth it. The outside of the fort is well preserved and it is east to see where the first floor inside the fort would have been. In and out in about 20 mins, but pleased I did it.

The restored fort situated on the coast brings alive the history of Bahrain as a trading post and gives an idea of the historical context of Bahrain.
A cafe is nearby, and a pleasant time can be had sipping a cup of coffee by the seashore.
Time taken for a visit would be one to two hours for the fort, but after a while becomes boring as there is no now to provide a guided tour.
Yet well worth a visit.

There are a number of forts around Bahrain, with each of them having something different going from them. Arad Fort is located in a quiet spot, so you're likely to have the place to yourself. It's not huge but it makes up for that with great city views from the top. Certainly worth a stop if you are nearby.

One of the oldest and smallest forts in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Just by the sea behind Seef Mall Muharraq. Go there at sunset

Free entry. Renovated fort - but no interpretation to give any history or context to the fort. Nice view of the sea.

Had a look around here this afternoon and enjoyed the walk. Lots of walls still intact and good views of the new city.

Historical site Demonstrating a Bahraini culture and 15th century architecture. Situated in Muharraq (Arad) town is very close to Bahrain international airport. A must to visit to witness Bahrain heritage

Once upon a time as part of the history of Bahrain, this was a defesive fort that has been well preserved and open for all to see.
Not so big that you would get lost but possess a few tricky stairs to climb up and get some nice photos whether day or sunset time.
Its also convieniently located just off the sea that also provides a nice view of the city in the distance.
Large open air carpark and a popular attraction for school outings and tourists alike, the close proximty to the Seef Mall Arad also adds the leisurely atomsphere as well as old vs new concept.
For added info though the website says open at 9 but its actually 12 noon which is peak heat if visiting in summer. It maybe small and wont be to long wandering around but it can get very hot. Thus the seef at the side is a good place to go cool off after the visit.
Definitely one of the attractions to visit when in Bahrain.

We visited this site as a part of a cruise excursion. We walking around the vast site and were able to go inside. You could access most of the fort although some is it was closed off. Very nice location if you are until the history of the region.

Arad Fort portrays how people long ago managed security and manning the waters of Bahrain. It is set on a high point of the island and interesting to see certain aspects of creativity in the building structure. Its a quick trip though as you can walk around it and in it for about 30 mins. The view of the city from inside is so so beautiful. Of course best to go in winter or early/late hours of the day in summer.
