- らわManchester, United Kingdom1,698 contributionsNice little coffee museumThis is a nice small museum and only costs 10 Durhams to enter. It includes free coffee and dates. Lots of antiques and some explanations of the history of coffee, such as the first coffee houses, Japan making the first instant coffee and Nestle making the first freeze dried coffee. Nice and cool inside so a good break from the heat, definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes coffee.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 November 2023

You can see a lot of coffee grinders, kettles or pots in which the coffee was brewed. For tasting, you also get two small coffees (one traditional UAE, and one classic) as well as dried dates.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 20 December 2023
- C8H8O394 contributionsInteresting collection of coffee artifactsA small but nice collection of coffee historical items, as well as some good educational material for those interested in coffee. It’s in historic district so also best to see for the surrounding buildings. There is an SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) certified barista upstairs, and the v60 pour over of Ethiopian coffee I had (30 AED) was perfectly done, if that’s your thing. The coffee sample that comes with the 10 AED entrance fee is not the same (and unnoteworthy).Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 25 December 2023

We wanted to visit the old town and we found this fabulous little gem with air conditioning which provided a welcome respite from the baking August heat.
Welcomed by 2 pleasant chaps and served traditional coffee and dates before wandering round the artefacts and little rooms.
Finished off with a second coffee (Ethiopian) which was rich and delicious.
At only 100 aed a well worth it stop off!

The visit is not even worth the value of the entrance. Three rooms with old coffee grinders and other devices, without and explanations or labels as to dates or there they come from. After the quick visit, complimentary coffees are served by a girl sitting on the floor, who pours the coffee in a little cup and grabs a handful of POPCORN with her bare hands and puts it next to the cup. My cup came with dates, and the lady who brought it didnt even know what they were. Ans experience to forget.

I am surprised positively with coffee museum. It is so nice. First in my life I tasted coffee from Ethiopia. The staff are very nice and kind. I would mention a girl Salam from EThiopia who is very kind. She gave me a lot of information of coffee which I hadn't known before.

It’s a small speciality museum in Fahidi Historical District. What I love about here is it’s about coffee hahha. You get to discover cool stuff about coffee like how it was done ages ago. Different coffee origins and different coffee specialities from various countries.
There is a coffee shop upstairs but we haven’t tried it yet. Will do after sometime haha 😜
Oh and the smell of coffee, the design of the place it’s like speaking “Coffee it’s all about u, just you ❤️”

Popped in here when exploring the Al Fahidi historical area. Lots of interesting items related to coffee. You're left to your own devices to look around but any questions are readily answered.

Thank you Anna and her beautiful team, I stepped into a family,it felt like as if I have known them all for a very long time although we just met . There you get revitalized, eat good food, facilities are very clean and peaceful... it was a combination of doing yoga , seeing North Bali , meeting people and making new friends. The groups are small , I never felt lost or lonely but also if I needed time alone I had that as well . I can recommend them for sure and I will go back for more . Thank you again Anna !

I went to the Coffee Museum in Dubai after having read all the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor - and boy was I disappointed. The historical area in which the museum is located is quite nice and it's free to visit; however, I feel like the museum needs a bit of structure as it is quite confusing.
We entered the museum and tried to look for a staff member who could inform us about how we should go about the museum, but nobody looked our way. We approached a lady and she showed us a brochure and looked at us as if we were idiots when we asked where to start. We then decided to start downstairs before making our way to the top floor, which was kind of cozy but again lacked structure and information. We almost felt as if we had intruded and decided to leave again and have coffee elsewhere. What a disappointment.

Do not waste your money here, no useful information about the coffee trade and the Arab states; all of the antiques on display are European. No coffee to smell/taste apart from the cafe. Better coffee on Al Seef.

Found out the coffee museum is closed tomorrow (islamic new year). I’m only in Dubai tomorrow and would really like to buy arabjc coffee to bring back for my friend. Does anyone know anywhere to buy good arabic coffee and what the prices usually are?

Its free, make sure to be there in the working hours times, the area somehow crowded. if you are usuing a car you will pay a parkig fee. i recmmend to use a taxi going to that area, as it is crowded with narrow roads

How can I get to this museum using either taxi or public transportation + walking? I'm unclear on the actual address and the web site is not very helpful. I will be staying at Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Al Muraqabat. Thanks!

you could either take a taxi and ask him to drop you off at Bastakiya which is where the coffee museum is at. You just need to walk you way around it because there are art galleries and cafes in the area. Or if you want to have the tourist experience and discover the whole area, take the metro to Al Fahidi station and from there walk to Bastakiya. You will pass the old Souk/Spice market which is pretty interesting. There will be a lot of tourist information desks there incase you need to ask for directions.
