About
Mimicking a traditional Arabian bazaar, Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a popular marketplace in Dubai. It’s interconnected with waterways, lined with bars and bistros, as well as offers a picture-perfect view of the Burj Al Arab. Here, you can get adrift in a maze of stalls and browse everything from oud perfumes and glimmering jewelry to fragrant spices and Turkish pottery. You can also plan for an alfresco meal and soak in the good vibes outdoors. That’s not all—the best way to admire the bazaar is to hop on a traditional Emirati-style gondola and sail along the tranquil waterways. – Tripadvisor

    I recommend
It is one or the alternative to the traditional and very popular souks. Here, with due time and without being subject to uncomfortable pressure from sellers, we can purchase a variety of products and items at attractive prices. However, much of the demand for this souk happens because you can access a spot where you can take photographs with the Burj Al Arab as a backdrop.

One of the most beautiful facades of Dubai
The market is characterized by the old Arabic style, and has the finest restaurants in Dubai, but the prices for shopping there are expensive. There are also some international cafes with moderate prices in the Madinat Jumeirah market, such as “Costa”. It also contains many distinctive natural and tourist landscapes for photography, as it is the most prominent point from which you can take a wonderful photo with the Burj Al Arab as your background.

    Wonderful
What a great place and as a family we love to revisit each time we visit Dubai. The people within the souk are so friendly and accommodating, and don’t get put off with a little hard selling, it adds to the charm and is as found in other market venues. A simple ‘No thank you’ is sufficient and respected. Great selection of items to buy or consume and you can get lost for a while within the rabbit warren around the beautifully maintained facility. Having stayed with Jumeriah Hotels a number of times we love the spirit, generosity and quality provided from the Group, however my only criticism on this visit was the fact that they’re now charging 100AED (£20) per person to travel on the Abras around the facility … a little steep for a family of 4 to take a quick trip along the water course, which could do with a little tidy. Unfortunately the only thing we didn’t get to enjoy on this journey to Dubai. All in all a wonderful place and certainly worth the visit.

Great place to walk and eat
Great place to walk around and make some shopping for local souvenirs without any seller bothering you. This Souk is obviously a more modern and chick reconstruction of those located in Deira, but you can still find local products. The venue also has excellent restaurants as well as a beautiful view of the Burj Al Arabe. Being a closed place also offers an excellent place to walk whatever the conditions of the weather.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah is one of Dubai's most fascinating and vibrant destinations, located in the heart of the elegant Jumeirah district. This souk, inspired by traditional Arab markets, offers a unique mix of authenticity and modern luxury. Strolling through its winding corridors, you are transported to an atmosphere reminiscent of ancient times, with traditional-style architecture, carved wooden ceilings, and hanging lanterns that create soft, romantic lighting. Souk Madinat Jumeirah is known for its variety of shops, ranging from fashion and jewelry boutiques to souvenir, carpet, spice and local craft shops. It is the ideal place for those looking for unique items or exclusive gifts, with a wide range of high quality products reflecting Middle Eastern culture and craftsmanship. In addition to Shopping, the souk offers a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and lounges to suit every taste, from local cuisine to international delicacies. Many of these venues offer outdoor seating overlooking the waterways that cross the souk, creating an enchanting and relaxing dining experience. The breathtaking view of Burj Al Arab in the background adds an extra touch of magic to the place, especially at sunset. The souk is also an entertainment center with live shows, musicians and artists animating the evenings, making the atmosphere even more vibrant and engaging. Traditional "abra", small wooden boats, offer canal trips, allowing visitors to explore the souk from a unique and picturesque perspective. Ultimately, Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a place that combines the charm of the past with modern luxury and comfort, making it a must-see destination for those visiting Dubai. Whether Shopping, Gastronomy or just a place to enjoy an evening stroll, the souk offers a memorable experience that captures the essence of Arabic hospitality.

Souk Madinat Dubai: Dive into the Authenticity and Luxury of Dubai Marina
Dubai Marina is undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Dubai, but if you want to discover a corner of traditional and authentic charm, the Souk Madinat Dubai is a must-see. Located within the Madinat Jumeirah, this modern traditional Point of Sale is a perfect balance between historical Arabic architecture and contemporary luxury. Strolling through its cobbled alleys, you will feel transported to a bygone time, with its majestic ivory towers and canals reminiscent of ancient port cities. The souk offers a wide range of boutiques selling everything from handcrafted jewellery to luxurious fabrics, exotic spices and lovely souvenirs. The restaurants and cafes in the souk offer international and local cuisine, allowing you to savor delicious dishes while admiring the panoramic views of the city. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with an atmosphere that manages to combine the warmth of Arab hospitality with the dynamism of Dubai. Souk Madinat Dubai is a sensory journey that enriches every visit with its unique combination of elegance and tradition. If you want an experience that combines the best of past and present, this is the place.

    Madinat Jumeirah Market in Dubai...
As Dubai once again took a sightseeing tour from the tour operator, there was no chance of avoiding the Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Say what? The mall is like a mall, adjusted for Eastern flavor. Walking around, glancing, even buying something. A couple of bottles of cold water...

    Perfect location
Beautiful location. You are able to take some lovely photos with the Burj Al Arab in the background. Very clean and a you can spend an afternoon quite easily. I wouldn't buy anything from the shops as they are quite expensive compared to the prices in Old Dubai. We ate at a lovey restaurant and the food was lovely.

It pays to go eat more than buy
It is a quiet place to do Souvenir Shopping and some clothes, quiet and very clean atmosphere. However, product prices are 20% higher than elsewhere where they sell the same. There are also a number of international restaurants outside.

Nice small market with great views and restaurants
This is a nice market that's not too big but still pleasant to explore. You can enjoy nice views of the Burj Alarab hotel and even take a short boat ride around the canals. What I really enjoyed were the restaurants there right on the water. The view is very nice and so is the food. They seemed to be mostly high-end restaurants. It's definitely worth coming here for a look at the market and dinner.

A colorful place, I especially liked the shop of Afghan treasures.
I visited twice, the first time with a guide as part of a tour, the second time on my own. The guide very correctly recommended a seller of camel milk ice cream right at the main entrance. The ones that I liked the least are the same price.

Prices in the market are very, very high compared to a store for locals - what costs 10 dirhams there (a linen shopper) here will cost from 40. But Madinat Jumeirah is really very beautiful, here you can walk in the coolness and look at it like in a museum things from all over the world. And then go outside and walk around Dubai Venice.

A civilized version of a souk. Very nicely arranged, the merchants are much less insistent and disturbing than in the classic bazaar. Many interesting things that you can buy from dozens of stands. A lot of very nicely decorated restaurants, where alcohol is also sold, making you forget that you are in a country where it is difficult to find something like this in a restaurant. The whole complex is surrounded by a system of canals, which you can ride on an abra, for a rather high fee.

Seek out local treasures at this traditional Arabian bazaar.

The Souk Madinat Jumeirah is an Arabian bazaar full of fantastic treasures, from spices and slippers to locally created jewelry. Immerse yourself in the shopping culture of this classic Middle Eastern bazaar by wandering through the kiosks and stalls under exquisite lanterns and carved wood.

Shops are open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., while restaurants are open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. at Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Please see the specifics in the description below for confirmation of the timings. The first two hours of parking are free, after which you will be charged more than 15 dirhams depending on how long you stay. I suggest visiting it both with daylight and at night.

The main entrance lift leads to the Shopping Mall Level, and the Shopping Alleys elevator leads to the Promenade Level, making Souk Madinat Jumeirah wheelchair accessible.

The souk, which is part of the stunning Madinat Jumeirah resort, has infinite passageways to stroll through. This peaceful outdoor mall has a mix of traditional souvenir shops and modern cafés. Take a boat ride to see the magnificent Burj al Arab hotel in the distance.

There are lots of places to stop for a coffee, a light lunch, or a memorable dinner against the picturesque backdrop of Old Dubai, with over 25 restaurants serving drinks and international cuisines.

If you're looking for that postcard-perfect photo of the Burj Al Arab, hop on a boat at the central abra cab station and sit back to enjoy the palm-fringed views. If you're on a tight budget, be aware that this abra ride is quite pricey. There is a similar spot in Dubai where you can fully experience Old Dubai for a much cheaper rate. Well, I'm referring to Al Seef Dubai. Abra rides are also available here. If you haven't been there yet, take a look at our Dubai Playlist.

The new parking management and being charged even for 2/3 hours when you visit restaurants or TODA is ridiculous!!! Something should change otherwise lot of people with cars will avoid going there!! And always no available spaces during pick time.

I had a terrible experience at Grand Bazaar Nuts Trading, a kiosk inside Souk Madinat. The salesperson, Omar Halaby, attempted to scam me. He initially quoted me 55 AED for 100 grams of chocolate, but then proceeded to fill a box without discussing the total weight or price. When it came time to pay, I was shocked to find out I had been charged 515 AED($140 USD)—a charge I only realized after receiving an Apple Pay notification.

When I confronted Omar about the charge, he refused to take responsibility, claiming it was non-refundable and that he had supposedly shown me the price on the card machine (which he did not). He was incredibly unprofessional, even mocking me by saying, “Why are you so upset? You’re not buying a Ferrari.”

The situation escalated into a 45-minute ordeal, and I had to involve mall security because Omar refused to return the money. Thankfully, mall security forced him to refund me, but the entire experience was exhausting and infuriating.

This business operates with shady practices and dishonest employees. I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs. If you value your money and your time, do not shop here. Zero stars if I could.

It was nice to visit a local place. There are places such as gold, antiques, souvenirs, perfumes and restaurants. Since I wasn't going to buy anything, I just browsed and bought a postcard and a small figure. If you do not have an extreme preference for souvenirs, you can find 6 magnets at the day to day store for 2-3 dirhams, which are funny prices that are not even available in Turkey. If you are looking to buy gifts for your friends and family, you can buy them cheaply there. There are beautiful places under the chandeliers to take photos.

The Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a relatively small indoor market, which over the years has turned into a tourist trap with not a lot of options. I've been to it some years ago and it was a nice experience combined with lunch / dinner at the Madinat restaurants, but these days there are security guards which prevent you from going to the restaurants unless you have a reservation. Total turn-off for us, and we will never ever recommend this place. Not worth it to visit. Jumeirah Al Qasr also over-priced and not worth it.

After frequently visiting the Souk Madinat for the past 6 years, I was taken aback and frustrated to suddenly be charged 60 AED for parking on Monday night. This was surprising because we had arrived and parked after the supposed starting time for Free Parking of 3 hours, especially since I had spent a lot of money at the stalls and market there. Interestingly, a few weeks prior, I had parked at a similar time with no charge at all. It seems that my emails expressing my concern about this issue have been ignored or overlooked, as they were all returned. Consequently, we have decided to take our business/ family and friend. Elsewhere in the future, to establishments that uphold their Free 3 hour Parking policy. Dubai is brimming with beautiful other places. This experience has been greatly disappointing, and I strongly advise against visiting Souq Madinat Jumeirah. The parking queue took an exceptionally long time, and to add to the frustration, Sofia at the car park machine prevented us from leaving until we paid again. This has left a negative impression on my family and friends who were in the cars behind me. Very sad and disappointing and day ruined due to this.

Decided to have a wander and then planned to eat dinner here.
As you enter it is cool and has a pleasant scent from one of the many shops selling some form of oud or smoking ornament
As you saunter there are plenty of shops and boutiques many offer traditional garb, some offer stuffed camels and souvenirs, many ouds and then Costa, Starbucks and Cinnabon..
If you come to door it likely takes you outside. There are great views of the surroundings including the Burj al Arab. We ate at the meat company where you sit outside on their decking with the Burj as the backdrop.
The reason I think this is average is because it’s a bit chintzy. Plus I paid £9 for a single scoop of ice cream in a cone and the same for a tall Starbucks.. way too expensive
Also taking a taxi back is a bit dangerous as they were parked in the middle lane of 3 and cars are moving around all over the place..
I am sure there are much better souks around and far less expensive

We (family of 2 adults + 2 children) were at the Souk Madinat. After about half an hour, everyone wanted to leave. In my opinion, at least 90% of the goods were cheap from the Far East. There was hardly anything original there. The market itself was laid out OK, but nothing special. Most of the traders had one hand on their cell phone, the other waving as an invitation to come into the shop. There was also the odd tourist saying (not from every trader, but most - there were some friendly ones too). We didn't do the boat ride either. It would have cost a total of 350 AED = around 90 € for the four of us. Just a rip-off! In the (nice, but expensive in my opinion) restaurants, there were 3-4 waiters per person. On top of that, there were parking fees of 20 AED = 5 € per hour!
Summary: 1-2 *-* out of 5 ***** stars and definitely NOT recommended!!!
