Top ways to experience The Dubai Fountain
The area
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

I had read online that the fountains were a must see while we were in Dubai so we headed down around 7pm. The crowds were big but even despite the crowds we managed to get a really good view. The first time i saw the display, it brought me to tears. It was incredible. I have never seen water shoot up so high before. The display lasts for around 4 minutes and is repeated every 30 minutes from 6pm in the evening. We eventually saw the fountains several more times during our stay including once from above as we visited one of the restaurants with a balcony and this gave us a completely new perspective. I really would recommend a visit. It is incredible and you wont regret it!

Spectacular show with sympathetic music perfectly timed with the fountains. Several shows throughout the evening with differing international themes. You cannot avoid the sponsor's message! Free until you sit down for a meal at a shore side restaurant, which are not to be so raved about.

Underwhelming, not a patch on Bellagio, Las Vegas. Not worth a special visit blink and you miss it. Shame!

This was mentioned in lots of "things to see in Dubai" guides, and I certainly was not disappointed!
I can imagine that it gets very crowded around the fountain on an evening. I was lucky enough to see a mid-afternoon 'performance' from my table in a nearby food market, and had a great view.

I'd recommend the evening water show along with light display against the Burj Khalifa. Get there early if you want to stand along the railing with unobstructed views. Beautiful light and water show, it's free!

Great to see the tallest building at night all lit up and enjoy the fountain show. The area is bustling and a nice place to watch the world go by and people watch so to speak. The fountain show lasts a few minutes and we watched it a few times, but we wouldn't necessarily head back here in a hurry. I'd maybe like to see it from a different vantage point perhaps, I imagine it's pretty from above. Influencers and people doing it for the gram is a spectacle in itself! A nice evening if coupled with dinner and little stroll.

Добрый день. Возможен ли осмотр достопримечательностей города хотя бы вечернее время в августе? Читала, что жара в это время года ужасная и не спадает даже вечером.Или лучше перенести время визита на другой месяц? Спасибо.

in my opinion it is better to visit Dubai in cooler months, or stay locked inside all the time

It's free. There is no requirement for a ticket and you can view the fountains from a number of different areas. It can also be viewed from viewing areas within Dubai mall but I recommend getting outside and viewing it from one of the outside areas

In normal circumstances the answer would be yes, But with the present climate around the world, not just Dubai, it changes on a daily/Hourly basis.
