The area
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

    Spectacular Son et Lumiere
Spectacular show with sympathetic music perfectly timed with the fountains. Several shows throughout the evening with differing international themes. You cannot avoid the sponsor's message! Free until you sit down for a meal at a shore side restaurant, which are not to be so raved about.

    Incredible!
I had read online that the fountains were a must see while we were in Dubai so we headed down around 7pm. The crowds were big but even despite the crowds we managed to get a really good view. The first time i saw the display, it brought me to tears. It was incredible. I have never seen water shoot up so high before. The display lasts for around 4 minutes and is repeated every 30 minutes from 6pm in the evening. We eventually saw the fountains several more times during our stay including once from above as we visited one of the restaurants with a balcony and this gave us a completely new perspective. I really would recommend a visit. It is incredible and you wont regret it!

Excellent to view, even in the daytime!
We were at the Dubai Mall to visit the Burj Khalifa. We happened to be outside when a show started. An Italian Tenor provided the backdrop to the dancing water. As his voice soared the water shot up ever higher. It was excellent. Hope the video loads! Nope, bummer.

    Awesome
As you approach the Dubai Fountain, you can sense the anticipation building. The fountain's vast expanse and the surrounding waterfront promenade create a bustling atmosphere filled with eager spectators from all walks of life. The sheer size of the fountain, coupled with its elegant design, sets the stage for an unforgettable experience.

    Absolute must see
I’ve been in Dubai for many years, but these fountains still give me goosebumps. They are incredible! The songs, the show, the lights, the Burj Khalifa in the background - it’s all breath-taking! If you have the option, choose a restaurant close by so you can enjoy a meal and watch a different song/show every 30 minutes. This is an absolute must see, do not miss the Dubai Fountains!

    Great viewing for dinner
A great viewing to oversee whilst having dinner outside. The best viewing of the fountain is on the top floor of the mall so be sure to eat at the restaurants on the top floor ie Huqqa. The fountain show lasts 5mins and is every half hour after 6pm. Every show is not the same, so you may need to wait a while to get that perfect video, the fountain wow factor depends on the song being played.

The mesmerizing lights dancing to the perfectly synchronized music, Burj Khalifa had a light show too, it was really cool seeing everyone stop in the tracks for a couple of minute and get completely captivated by the show. Nice
Dubai fountain is in front of dubai mall. The fountain show starts post 5 pm in the evening. One can watch it either from outside the mall or from burj khalifa. It is a small 2 minute show but nice. Our kids really enjoyed the show.

    A Must-See Attraction At Night
The Dubai Fountain is currently the world's largest musical fountain, it is 3 times larger than the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, USA. It comes alive every 30 minutes between 6pm and 11pm daily. It performs to a variety of music, including English, Arabic, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Korean songs. You watch this beautiful spectacle from the promenade outside the Dubai Mall or from a restaurant in the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

    Spectacular fountains
Had a lovely evening and the fountains were spectacular. We stayed and saw all the displays they last for a few hours so it's worth staying around. The Burj khalifa was also lit which we hadn't expected. Definitely worth a visit.

You do not have to pay for the bridge or the boat tour... there is a barrier going must of the way around fountain for you to see it.. there are many restaurants that have balconies too that you can watch from.. Check times and days .. but if you stay to end of night... taxi's are only in 1 area and takes 10-15mins to get out of car park....Mall is amazing.. show is great to watch and different music and lights/water each time..

A must see but very very hot day and night. Very large Dubai Mall and fountains are outside the Mall. All the designer shops are in the mall.

It was a spectacular experience that shouldn't be missed. The synchronized water, light, and music show is captivating, with water jets shooting up to 500 feet high. Set against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa, the fountain performances are truly magical, especially at night.

Visiting the Dubai Fountain is always an extraordinary experience! As one of the largest choreographed fountain systems in the world, it's truly a sight to behold. Picture this: you're standing along the edge of the Burj Lake, eagerly awaiting the show to begin. The anticipation builds as the sun starts to set, casting a golden glow over the iconic Burj Khalifa in the background.

Then, suddenly, the music starts to swell, and the first jets of water shoot into the air, illuminated by a rainbow of colorful lights. The water dances gracefully to the rhythm of the music, reaching incredible heights and creating mesmerizing patterns against the night sky.

Each performance is carefully synchronized to a selection of songs from different genres and cultures, ranging from classical to contemporary Arabic music, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. Whether it's the powerful crescendo of a classical symphony or the infectious beat of a pop hit, the fountain seems to come alive, expressing the emotions of each melody through its dynamic movements.

As you watch in awe, surrounded by the buzzing energy of the crowd, you can't help but feel a sense of wonder and joy. It's a truly magical experience that leaves a lasting impression, reminding you of the beauty and grandeur of Dubai. And as the final notes fade away and the last jets of water subside, you're left with memories that you'll cherish for years to come.

Perhaps we were expecting too much, but this was sadly disappointing. We went along after an evening out rather than with any organised tour, and had to go through the Mall, which wasn't a problem. It was very busy, which again wasn't a problem because we still had a good view. We did, however, think that the "show" would last a lot longer than 3 minutes and involve far more colourful water fountains. Our experience was that it was very short, with little in the way of eye-catching fountains or colours. We didn't bother staying around for another show and I would only recommend going if you are around the Mall and don't have anything else to do.
