About
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is one of the most captivating attractions in Dubai. Located at The Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world, offering a memorable journey into ocean life. With capacity to hold 10 million litres of water, Dubai Aquarium is one of the largest indoor aquariums in the world and it illuminates the marvels of the ocean floor, showcasing one of the most diverse collections of aquatic life. Located just above the aquarium, Underwater Zoo brings visitors up close with penguins, piranhas, crabs, water rats, sea horses, jellyfish and plenty more. A fascinating new addition at Underwater Zoo is King Croc, regarded as nature's rare phenomenon and one of the world's largest reptiles - at over 5 meters long and weighing an imposing 750 kg plus. Underwater Zoo regularly hosts innovative exhibits. One such exhibit, 'UAE's Night Creatures' presents the experience of nightfall in the desert as creatures of the dark.

The area
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

If you are in Dubai for the first time, you can give it a try. Definitely not a place to re-visit. Smaller than it looks in photos. In reality is nothing spectacular.

When you see the HUGE glass wall of the aquarium facing the mall you'd probably think "this place is going to be amazing." You'd be wrong. The aquarium you see for free from the mall is pretty much it. There are no other large aquariums inside, just small on the order of bathtub-sized waist-height collections in a touristy and cheesy interior.

Let me qualify this by stating that I could be spoiled - we've been to the amazing Atlanta, Vancouver and Toronto aquariums. I expected Dubai's to rival these - after all, that seems to be the theme of the city: "bigger and better". But no. We dropped $300 via their website (would have been $400 if we bought from the ticket humans), walked around a silly mall zoo, dodged the many vendors and green-screen photo takers, and left.

I give this 2 stars rather than 1 because the kids actually enjoyed it. The otters were pretty cute, the sky walk thing was unique, and maybe I'm just jaded. We didn't do the "boat ride" (a person pulling a small raft around a 400 foot circle track) or the penguin "experience" so can't speak to those. But my advice is to look at the big FREE aquarium from the mall and walk on.

They look so unreal but they're not. And how cool is that. The variety of sea life present in that aquarium beats any other hands down.

The most amazing Aquarium that I have ever seen. To see all the different kinds of fish etc was incredible. Just about everything was inside this magical cove.

A lot of people, a lot of waiting, nothing to see inside, nothing special to have the name of best aquarium. Atlantis aquarium is much better and cheaper.

Decent value if you do a combo with the Burj Khalifa or find a discounted ticket. 200 AED not so much. Decent variety of animals and fun to experience if you have some time to kill. Went in the morning so it wasn’t crowded. Can see why those who paid full price when it was crowded weren’t happy with the experience.

NOT WORTH THE PRICE OF USD 50+. you can see almost as much of the aquarium from the mall. Gets super packed which very much impacts the experience. I love aquariums but this one isn't worth the cost.

I have been to many underwater aquarium yet this is something different as they have scuba diving here. You will be able to walk on a hanging bridge too. Plus, there are penguins too. Overall it’s a nice place to visit. Located inside Dubai Mall. It’s great place to visit with families. Kids would love this place.

Waste of money to go inside it but it’s way beautiful outside in comparison to the inside .
Specially the aquarium Tunnel it’s smaller than the one in KLCC Malaysia.under water Zoo is the same for the basic tickets you can not see penguins either. Do not buy ticket at the entrance,
Rather buy it online for very low prices it’s much cheaper.
