Gorgeous place, highly recommend checking it out for the architecture and history. Do check operating hours before going as they are not often open on weekends.

We stopped in the "center" with an idea to sit and have a refreshment which we enjoyed outside amount the "Ruins". A welcome respite when touring Antigua. We walked through the galleries afterward and were pleasant surprised to find treasures of archeology, vessels with faces and bodies decorating them. Varied and beautiful! Also an exhibit of children's paintings which were remarkable. This is definitely worth a stop.

This impressive ruin has been converted into a restaurant and exhibition space for contemporary art. The large building housing the CFCE Cafe hosts a library, a cafe, and an exhibition area, as well as a beautiful, green central patio. Admission is free. One has to check one's bags at the entrance, with a free (locking) locker available. You can walk in and visit and enjoy the delightful café and courtyard just about any time. In additional, there are often cultural events and art on display. The restoration of the grounds is lovely. CFCE Cafe is surprisingly nice and often relatively empty. It has free wifi available. There is usually something going on, and it is right in the middle of town. CFCE Cafe is a little pricey with not much variety (food wise) but it is a lovely spot to retreat to.

Impressive! Located at one block from de central park. You enter the site and you automatically enter to a beautiful ancient world. You can find several galleries of national and international art. There are beautiful well maintaned gardens, corridors, archs, colors of walls, everything is well conserved. There is a church with ruin walls and facade that is simply amazing! I loved this place from the entrance to all its different and interesting ambiences. You can also enjoy sorroundings with a good book, while having a cup of coffee at the coffee shop in the interior garden. Highly recommended for tourists and locals. There is no fee for entrance.

We just saw this from the outside but were very impressed by the beauty of the building. It is situated very close to the main area of town.

This large building hosts a library, a cafe, and an exhibition area, as well as a beautiful green central patio. I like to come here with my two boys when we are in Antigua and visit the children's library. It's a nice quiet "break" from the rest of the city.

The children's library is small and unless you live in Antigua you can't check anything out, but there are some toys to play with and books you can read. They also host regular family events on Saturdays, but I have never made it to one so I can't comment.

Note: you can't bring food into the CFCE (once we tried to get in with ice cream cones), and you have to check your bags at the entrance.

I've been to Antigua many times and this is the first trip where I actually entered this library/cafe/exhibition area. I was impressed with a pre Colombian exhibit that was housed in three rooms today with signage in English. Another show included many wonderful exhibits. And a third had large canvases painted by children which was surprisingly impressive. Admission was free and there were secured lockers for bags before entering. Lovely spacious building to check out. Recommended.

Among the office and event space are ruins, art and a cute cafe - all interspersed with lovely patios. Free wifi, always something going on, and right in the middle of town. Cafe is a little pricey with not much variety (food wise) but it is a lovely spot to escape.

This is maybe my favorite place in Antigua after the Parque Central. You can walk in and visit and enjoy the delightful café and courtyard just about any time. In additional, there are often cultural events and art on display. The restoration of the grounds is masterful.
