Thermal fountains
Jul 2021 • Solo
Ok, this doesn’t look so exciting at first. But.. for me it was really an interesting experience. I never saw so many fountains with running water 24/7 and so many people filling huge bottles for their families. This is not just a mineral water. It comes from the ground at 37 degrees, like thermal waters and is very healthy. If you are at the area, take a bottle or just drink! And then sit for a while at the beautiful park just a few meters away.

Pure drinking water
Jun 2021 • Family
This is a beautiful old history place with healthy 9.3-9.5 ph water coming from the ground in the middle of the downtown Sofia . Great place to fill some water and just take a break in the park near by .

Fresh, Warm Srping Water
Nov 2019
It's a delight to drink fresh, warm srping water from many spigots (and fill my bottles). Locals go (drive) here, bringing huge water jugs, containers. Open 24x7. Located next to Banya Bashi Mosque and tram stops.

Fascinating.
Dec 2019 • Friends
Mineral Water Springs was a place that fascinated me on our recent weeks holiday in Sofia.
When the city of Serdica was established as a Roman settlement ,a major reason was the fact that these mineral waters were here ,the Roman's with their love of hot springs and mineral waters took advantage of this phenomenon and thus the foundations of this city were born.
I found it amazing the amount of locals armed with all manner of receptacle to fill,we saw 100's of people filling bottle after bottle to use for domestic use I suppose, it was interesting and nice to see the spring water being used by the locals and not having a fancy label stamped on a plastic bottle and sold to tourists.
Mineral Water Spring is easy to locate on Ul Ekzarth Yozif ,its right by Banya Bashi Mosque.
Well worth checking out if your in the area.

It is so nice that you can try mineral water straight from the ground. And temperature is really impressive, it's going out around 37 degrees

A Raison d'Etre?
Nov 2019
Located at the back of the Banya Bashi mosque, it is not really an exciting tourist visit but one that reminds the visitor of one of the reasons why today's Sofia developed on the site. The hot water mineral springs and baths brought the Romans in search of spiritual and physical healing and the rest is history. I was unaware of this before I went around central Sofia with a guide. Feel the heat from the water and have a drink on the city - you won't be alone as many locals come armed with truckloads of plastic bottles, collecting water for their domestic purposes - its most probably better than their household tap water.

Wished I Had an Empty Container!
May 2019 • Solo
Located near the Sofia History Museum, it has many faucets where mineral water is flowing.I saw locals with big empty containers filling them up with water from here!

Without a container, I used my hands to taste the water. The water was hot and did not have any after taste.

Wished I had a container with me to fill it up for my use!

Very busy!
May 2019 • Couples
Wow never seen so many people filling their bottles with water. People were filling their car boots with enormous water bottles. The water tasted fine but I was surprised at how warm it was and there was no ugly smell like you get at many of these natural springs. We sat for a while on the wall watching...

Fill up your water bottle!
Jan 2019 • Couples
Bulgarians bring all types of water carriers, big and small, to these hot mineral water spigots and fill for use at home. You can fill your own bottle and see if you believe in the healing powers of these waters' minerals.

highly popular
Oct 2018 • Couples
Not sure if this is just a source of water or is there more of significance to this water spring, but it is highly popular. People there with a lot of water canisters, getting water to take home. I did not try the water, so I can not tell you if there will be some problems after you drink it.
