On our last day in Minsk my husband and I visited this museum. We are huge fans of museums presenting mini models of towns/cities, etc. The top favourite is Peter’s water area in St.Petersburg, Russia! This one was nice too, but I would say that it’s definitely better to visit this museum on your first day, especially if you have a car and plenty of time to travel to all of those places, since after seeing all the models, you’d definitely like to visit at least half of those sights.
The museum is well-made for kids or fans of Marvell. AlThough a figurine of captain America on a wall of Brest Fortress is kinda inappropriate, for some it might be even offensive.
We were offered to try VR for extra money, we thought it could be interesting, but we didn’t take into consideration the time for waiting and the fact that if you’re offered a coffee while you’re in the line for the VR, we should have probably refused, as coffee and vistibular system don’t get along well.

Museum Strana Mini is a great place to get an overview of many of Belarus' major castles, historical sites and important buildings all in one place! Staff are helpful, the audio guides incredibly informative and the models themselves are really detailed! My one suggestion is that they should consider more signposting outside - we walked past the museum twice as there is only one sign and a cherry-picker was parked in front of it! Other than this, great addition to any itinerary in Minsk!

I thought this museum of miniature Belarus was awesome! The Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Definitely do the audio guide, as you gain some historical knowledge of the "sights" you're looking at in miniature. The museum is also interactive - push the buttons that are part of some of the miniature displays for various light shows and other things.

Sort of hard to find - it's inside a huge building, down one floor, right side as you enter the building from the front. Use a map app to find it.

It isn't the top attraction in Minsk. But it IS worth a visit if you are passing by, Especially if you are interested in the history and geography of Belarus as a whole.
There are audio guides and the people working there are young and friendly.

I'm really shocked this is TA 1 in Minsk. I can understand Minsk hasn't that much to offer, but there are certainly many more interesting things do to.
The miniature musuem is set in the Culture palace, a very nice neo classic bldg on the main Republic sq. We went downstairs to see the musuem (again only due to TA 1), and from the entrance area we could see more than half of it.
We were hesitating if to pay the tickets and enter at all, but it was raining like hell outside, so decided to do it.
In order not to understand me wrong - the miniatures, consisting of main Belarus castles, Minsk landmarks and monuments are nice and done with great care and detail.
But, this is far from a main tourist attraction, it's more for the Belarus people who are acquainted with those places. Most of the displayed you haven't ever heard of.
So, if you're tight on time you can easily skip it, as I said there are many more interesting things to see for the first timer in Minsk.

The Museum Strana Mini trucked away in the Hall of the Trade Unions on October Square. When you enter the museum the visitor will be greeted by very helpful and friendly staff. I was asked for a form of ID before allowed to proceed with my visit to the museum. The visitor is provided with an English Langauge explanation of the exhibition, which is relayed on an MP3 player. Walking through the museum one encounters all the famous sites of Belarus in the forms of very beautifully constructed models of famous landmarks such as the Mir Fortress, the Njasvizh Palace, the Brest Fortress and other historic monuments. The museum is ideal for the first time visitor who has not got the time or energy to explore the whole of Belarus and the museum as the name suggests (Strana Mini - Mini Country) to view the most interesting places of the Belarussian Republic in one area. A really charming museum to visit!!! The Gift Show has some incredibly unique souvenirs for sale, such as a wooden model of the National Library of Belarus!

I had a great time looking at the mini buildings and learning about the different historical sites of Belarus, many of which i didn't know about.

Also there are little Easter eggs to find in the miniatures around the buildings, keep an eye out

I am absolutely impressed by the museum! Extremely happy we got to see it!

We could get an English guide without any pre-booking and learned lots of new things even about places we have already visited. It was nice seeing everything in miniature, see all the little secrets and hidden figures. The visit to the museum can substitute an expensive trip to any of those places of interest.

Kristina, the guide, was awesome and had great English! Other staff members on site were welcoming and accommodating. Another great plus: it is open on Monday.

I plan to bring my daughter next time. I think it is a must see!
