- TommoMelbourne, Australia50,434 contributionsVoted #18 best beach in worldThis beach is one of my favouites and one of the best in the Philippines. It was recently voted #18 in the world. The white sand and crystal clear waters are stunning. Dining at the many beachfront restaurants and bars, you will have fantastic views of the beach. Sunset is a really special time and you will see many Paraw Sailing boats in the area.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 March 2023
- Andreas WBusan, South Korea103 contributionsRe-visiting Boracay after22 years.Sand is still awesome. Clean-up was happened a while ago and it would not hurt to remove those sticks leaves and other organic rotting debris from time to time as well. Anyway, the beach is still one of the most beautiful around. As for the other side of the beach walk, incredible changes happen. Not necessarily for the good. So many big resorts and hotels side by side. We somewhat miss the old Boracay here, the place where backpackers, divers and people for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing meet. But that is just how times are heading to, consuming, commercialized environment as every tourist hot spot. Don’t get me wrong, it it good to be here, hotel is nice, staff everywhere friendly and attentive. Food is mainly a ripoff, you must be lucky to pick the right location. Restaurants of big hotels are no Garantie for good food - we rather experience the opposite - lousy food but highly overpriced.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 September 2023
- royce r2 contributionsBeautiful beachThis was my second visit to the island. Once again I stayed at Station 3 as I find this end has less tourists around and it is quieter at night. Plenty of tourists coming and going each day. I noticed along Station 3 many of coconut trees where people walk have coconuts on them. This is a very dangerous environment to be walking through. I did not check whether Stations 1 and 2 were similar. The beach is absolutely stunning...clear water...white sand and amazing sunsets but there are no rubbish bins except for 3 in the centre of the beach area so be prepared to carry it with you and there are no public toilets unless you eat at a restaurant and even then a lot don't have toilets.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 December 2023

Absolutely gorgeous!!! I loved this beach!! Station 1 is nice and quiet, Station 2 is where D’Mall is at so it is busy and the locals are hustling for business, which can be a bit annoying but it’s understandable, cause it’s their ‘bread and butter’.

Beautiful beach , you would never want to leave this place. Perfect for photography and lifetime memories . Specially the wave board you get on rentals can keep you busy and floating :)

After a 20 minute ride on the hop-on-hop-off bus, we arrived at white beach. A pretty cool area with shopping, restaurants, and a nice beach area. However, ruined by hawkers selling whatever. And it doesn’t stop, no matter how far you trek they keep coming at you. Too bad because it could be a nice area to visit. Will not return.

Boracay has fantastic sandy beach with beautiful sunsets but the beach is full of tour agents and staff touting massage services - it totally ruins what should be a relaxing holiday. On top of that you then have the paddle board operators all along the beach too. Then there are all the restaurant staff standing outside waving menus … So if you want a quiet relaxing beach then avoid White Beach on Boracay
I can’t understand the authorities allowing so many tour agents - just 20 on the beach would be more than enough instead of well over 100 - you can’t walk 10 metres without coming across another tour agent waving a card with the same photos that all the other tour agents have.

Pristine white sand and the turquoise beaches makes Boracay a holiday paradise. Add to that the breathtaking sunsets, fun water activities, a booming nightlife and a plethora of top rated restaurants and resorts, and it is simply one of the best holiday destinations for couples and families alike.

Clean, tidy, no thrash, no dog poop White Beach is a fun place to spend a week as a beach bum.
From 5☆ Hotels, The Lind, to D' Mall or from Station 1 to Station 3 there are many very good restaurants and bars. Our favorite hangout was Cafe del Sol for coffee and cheesecake and Aria Cusina Italiana for pizza and pasta. There is a new restaurant The Royal Indian Curry House that is excellent
As we stayed at The Lind we were not bothered by the large number of beach goers but if you have been to Spain, Italy or Greece they are also crowded so nothing new here
You have to try the Paraw Sailing. Its a one of a kind thrll not found anywhere else!
Overall, Boracay is still a great place, offering the best standards

Nice beach that has been cleaned up, very busy , lots of amenities, restaurants, boat trips, the usual tourist attractions. I wouldn’t say it’s a relaxing place but lovely views with beautiful soft sand and crystal clear water near station 3.

Beach was calm and warm. Sand was fine and powdery. It was just too many people on land selling you things and too many people on the water on paddle boats etc - also selling you things! its not relaxing. Plus there was so much seaweed/algae washing up on the shore - the cleaners can barely keep up!!!

if we want to travel in oct how is the climate and party will be on
Dudz S
Cebu City, Philippines236 contributions
the weather should be okay, so that's why thats the start of international tourist season. but, with climate change, expect some rain showers too
there are no more parties on the beachfront itself unlike before.
but there are plenty of places you can party that are not on the beach: dance clubs, videoke, live singers, performances, etc
have fun!
Hi I just want to know if my friend don't like hotel accommodation. Is there an apartment or house that I can accommodate?

Definitely! There are a lot of airbnb listings in the island, I advise to message them first prior to booking 👍

Hi, my husband and I had our hotel booking for 2 already but my son and his gf would like to come along. Is it possible for them to come with us and just made additional charges upon check-in? Will they be allowed to enter the island with us?
Graham C
Southampton, UK57 contributions
Yes, you can add but you must also book hotel in advance. Everybody who wants to enter the island has to register and show proof of their hotel booking for their stay on the island. Go to Caticlan port. At the front area go through to the left side and there are 2 offices. One is for paying for the boats, and the other is environmental fee. (Compulsory) When paid progress to the central entrance (roped off). After scanning of luggage progress to the right side and through the turnstiles. From there you must also register your name in the area provided and then queue up to get your boat. Transport other side awaits outside the port gate on the right. Have fun !

Grazie

Sunbeds Whitebeach

Manila, Philippines164 contributions
No more sunbeds on white beach. You may bring your beach towels for you to lie on. Resorts are also not allowed to put sunbeds and umbrellas on the white beach as it ruins the scenic view and to make it less crowded.
White beach is so much more beautiful after the 6 months close out. And lying in the sand with your beach towel is ok since the Boracay sand is fine and perfect.

TripAdvisor please change the “Malay” that’s not the country! I notice all of the above nominees has there country but not boracay! It should have Philippine’s in it!! Just saying
I agree!!!
Just change the name instead of putting the municipality, some people specialy foreigner may think its from Malaysia (Malay).

Why is there no Tourist Police? or no one to help you if there is a problem? I was travelling with my two kids and my husband as a family and we were SEVERLY threatend by a group of drunken russians who partied all night in our neighbour guest resort. We talked to the staff and manager but all were in a state of shock about the rudeness and aggressionlevel coming from those people. They were all extrem fit and muscle and worse extrem high on vodka or else.
As this contininued many nights, after 3 nights i walked right over there with my crying baby on my arm and a very drunken woman told me to put to down the baby "so she could slap my w......emouth!" Wow-this Russians really are the tourists from Hell! No manners, no education an by their tattooes they all look like a big group of inmate escapes. What was totally FRUSTRATING was in fact that the Manager didnt do anything, he hide in is office playing invincible. There is NO Tourist Police like in other places in the world and the real Police of Borocay asked if there is a fight and as we denied they somply hang up the phone!!! So Mr. Duterte we hope that not only will the island be clean in 2018 but as well safe for woman with children who get harrassed and terroized by drunken russian mafia tourists-thank you for listening.
