Fast but a bit pricey. But as a first timer, its a must-try. If you are on a time constraint, this is the best option.
TIP: Buy the pass at Klook or its available at the Airport Train Station Counter.

Have been to Hong Kong many times and enjoyed the fantastic convenience of entering the arrivals hall, buying an airport rail ticket, and boarding the train all within a short no steps no elevator walk. Upon arriving at Hong Kong station, boarding the hotel shuttle bus. Oh, but wait !!! There is no more hotel shuttle bus. MTR, which is in charge of this entire operation has eliminated this sevice. A pity, that the excellence received up to this point is all lost because of this poor decision to stop this service. The rail ticket for one is about $14 US, less per person for groups of 2,3,4. The subsequent taxi ride to J W Marriott for example is about $6 US. Long lines (ques) for the taxis. If your hotel, is at a subway stop, not that most are, you could take the subway. Buy an octopus card for service. Sad way to end the trip.

The quickest and most convenient way to travel between the airport and city. The journey takes around 25 minutes and cost approx HKD 100 with an Octopus card. The carriages are modern, clean, spacious with air conditioning and plenty of luggage storage. There is also free wifi on board, and access to power charging outlets. From the city I took a taxi to the hotel in Wan Chai, this cost HKD 40.

I am so surprised that the check in counter in central was closed. It was so inconvenient for a business traveller

I always take the Airport Express into Kowloon or Hong Kong. It's the fastest and easiest way into town. You can buy the tickets ahead of time online and board with a QR code.

The Airport Express is very frequent and there were plenty of seats, as well as space for luggage in the cabins. There are also charging ports and free wifi. Would use this again.

Efficient, clean, running regularly and simple to use, the HK Airport Express gets passengers in less than 30 minutes to Kowloon or HK Island.

the best way to get to and from the now being constructed huge Chep La Kok airport. it used to have the transfers though to the many hotels but unfortunately because of the decrease in visitors, they must have suspended the courtesy bus shuttle service.

I bought a HKD350 Airport Express/MTR Unlimited Pass for 3 days which I planned to use on all MTR and Bus routes. The card does not work on Buses and I have had to pay cash each time. Please advise whether this card should work on Buses and if so why this problem persists ?

The airport express bus did not charge extra for taking me from the train station to my hotel. But I don’t think regular buses are within the coverage of airport express.

Hello. Can you change your seats at these British airways check in desks (like you can at airport desks ) or is it purely to check in luggage only? Thanks so much

Hello, I was wondering if you recently traveled to Hong Kong. We are looking to use the AE to get to Causeway bay, but saw that protests currently may hinder the use of the AE. We are traveling with a young child and would appreciate any advice. Thank you

I travel frequently in and out of Hong Kong and always use AE. There have been times when the train will only run from HK Island direct to Airport . I will be using this Sunday 12 Jan when i arrive

Hi, does the airport express stop at Fortress Hill or is it only airport to Kowloon with no stops in between?

Agree with previous two comments , just check that during protests ( particularly Sundays ) that the AE will not only run HK to Airport which has happened in the past

We hebben nog geen QR code ontvangen voor de AirPortExpress (en zijn binnen 48 uur daar) , alleen de streepjescode op het toegestuurde ticket. Op het telefoonnummer op de ticket krijg ik geen gehoor. En nu?

Don't know for certain as I have always purchased my ticket after exiting the Arrivals Hall. But there is a service desk just before boarding the train; I suspect they'll be able to help you sort this out. It's your best option at this point.

How much is the ticket for a child 10yo?

Tega Cay, SC578 contributions
$52.5 HKD to Kowloon, $57.5 HKD to Hong Kong Island/Central one way or same day return; slightly less if you have/us an Octopus card (assuming the child is aged 3-11). Under 3 is free with an adult fare; 12 and over are adult price.
