My husband and I love exploring an area on the back of a bicycle but weren’t sure of how to do it in Hong Kong. Enter Wild Hong where we embarked on the Tolo Harbour cycle tour with the help of our impeccable guide Rory. Having never been to the New Territories part of Hong Kong before it was such a great way to experience it.

The ride is very flat and almost entirely along a bike path making it suitable for families and relatively cautious bikers. I just thought it was lovely and fun to experience the beautiful day. Keep in mind we did it in January as I think July/August might be very hot.

Our bikes were new hybrids and great for the conditions. We’d love to come back and try out the other bike and hike tours as there is so much to explore. We’ve also decided Rory is our “most interesting man alive “ as he not only was great about explaining the area / culture / history but he’s traveled EVERYWHERE.

If you’re looking for an active way to experience this amazing city we highly suggest Wild Hong Kong.

Tristan (our guide) took us on the W. Dog Tooth Ridge hike and the views were absolutely spectacular. It is a physically demanding hike, but Tristan was very patient as we took multiple little breaks on the way and stopped for many photos. An attentive and friendly guide, thank you for a great day out Wild HK!

Pre tour communication with Rory was spot on. We discussed our expectations/abilities & he recommended the Plover Cove Hike & Bike tour. What fun we had with friendly guide Tristan as we cycled & hiked the area.
We had a fabulous day, & I would definitely recommend this tour to see a different side of bustling Hong Kong.

Had an amazing SUP tour with Wild Hong Kong. I am glad that Rory answered all my questions promptly before and Tristian provided a well tailored tour. I cannot believe Hong Kong would have coral, sea urchins and sea cucumber in the wild. A truly wild tour in Hong Kong!

We were so happy to find Wild Hong Kong to balance the urban experience of Hong Kong with walks in nature. Booking was really straightforward and Rory replied to emails quickly and efficiently. We actually did 2 days of trekking - the Dragons Back and Sai Kung Wild Beaches. Our guide for both was Jesse who was really fantastic. He chatted easily with the whole group (we were a small group for Dragons Back and just our family for Sai Kung. Jesse was brought up in Hong Kong so knows it very well and was happy to recommend other activities and restaurants etc. He was very patient with our very talkative 12 year old and interested and interesting for our 15 year old. The treks themselves were fantastic - really good to get out of Hong Kong and experience its very special setting. The rock jump into pool below was highlight of the whole trip for our children. My husband was unable to join the treks due to a back problem but Rory Kindly reimbursed us with no question. We would highly recommend Wild Hong Kong

My friend and I booked this activity the night before and we had a great time. The weather was beautiful, the water was warm and gorgeous, and kayaking was a great way to see more of the islands. We thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors all day and the paddling wasn't too hard. Tristan (our guide) was very friendly and laid-back. We would have liked a little more information/history/narrative added to our experience in order to learn more about the location and the nature we were experiencing but we still had a great time.

If you’re a hiker maybe it’s easy but if you aren’t an avid hiker or in super awesome shape this is a hard hike. Beautiful at the falls but be ready to be drenched in sweat 20 mins in (and bring a change of clothes! You will absolutely need them!). One person in our group said from the bus stop in total we hiked 90 stories- yeah. NOT easy. Remember you’re in the jungle, it was summer and like 85% humidity at the time so BRING WATER. I did but our guide said he’d had people show up with mini water bottles before- that ain’t gonna cut it! I’m glad I did it but I wish they’d classified it as a moderate hike so I was better prepared.

Many thanks for the review. Indeed, a moderate hike and is described accordingly on our website for those who care to check; "Difficulty - Generally moderate with the odd strenuous section". Not easy, our summer climate in HK is tropical so be ready ;) For Ng Tung Chai, bring a swimsuit as well for a dip in the refreshing waterfall rock pools.

Really enjoyed my day with these, my group of 4 were lovely and the beach was an amazing break between kayaking, it was not too strenuous even in the windy conditions towards the end and I would definitely recommend if you're visiting Hong Kong!

We hiked in pretty dismal weather. Rain and strong winds which didn't make it any easier. It was my first "big" hike so i found it pretty challenging but my friend that was with me who has done a lot more trekking found it relatively easy. Unfortunately we didn't manage to see any sunrise because of the heavy cloud and rain but i loved being able to finish this at the base of the Big Buddha before it opened and the crowds arrived. You don't get told but you will need head torches or spot lights so make sure you pack these. It was also around 6 degrees at the top in winter so be prepared with the right clothing. Thank you to Henry and Rory.

Gutted the weather gods couldn't smile upon us! Appreciate very much the courage shown to embark on a challenging hike like this for the first time given the conditions. Respect! That's pretty much the coldest it ever gets in HK. Anyone reading this who plans to hike in March - October, it will be hot. We usually have back up torches, but indeed recommend to bring your own if you can. All the best and safe travels :) Rory and Henry
