The area
Neighbourhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

This was our first attempt at an escape room and it was a fun experience. It was harder than I initially thought it would be. The room we used had minor defects but was in good condition. The negative is that they literally give you the solution to how to solve a particular task when you ask for 'clues'. Would recommend

Stolen room: overall, unfortunately, a poor experience. Not recommended.

Environment: worn out and in need of maintenance. Extremely poor lighting: clues written in small font on walls literally in the dark; paint clues not visible due to age. Dark/bad lighting for room ambiance should not stop people getting clues unless you provide torches (which is a mechanism used by other companies). HUGE issue: correct solution failed to trigger opening of cupboard door with staff unaware of the problem.

Staff: helpful, but blocked by bad setup. No monitoring/cameras mean they have no idea what is happening in the room. They gave hints on request: press a button and spend time talking to a wall about the current situation/problem, and advice is spoken back on a too quiet speaker. They didn't know there was a technical fault in the room.

Puzzles: varied but most are poorly implemented and/or worn out. Some clues are not visible due to lack of maintenance or age. Linear, with only ever a single puzzle for all members of the group to work on. Some puzzle solutions explicitly written on card "type this!"... bad design. Final puzzle is very poorly written/explained/designed, unsatisfying.

Extremely disappointed as this was my first escape room at LOST HK. I was fully expecting to enjoy this and move on to try all the other rooms here and at the other branches. Previous escape rooms at other companies and in other locations around the world (including in HK) have been much more fun with none of the problems highlighted above.

The problems MIGHT only be for this room, but I would not risk buying another bad experience at LOST HK. Not recommended. If you have to go, try a different room from Stolen and hopefully it doesn't have the same issues.

The game had room had few malfunctions. One of the clue box were already opened before we could even solved the prior. The room was missing the flashlights which consumed our time. Had we not asked for the clue we wouldn't get the flashlight from the staff. The room wasn't foreigner friendly thus if the guest is clueless about Chinese reading one wouldn't figure out the clue. The staff took time to respond to answer clues as some of the staff do not speak English and had to wait for the one who could speak. This is not the first time we played Lost in HK, we played numerous times in MK, old CWB and Central branch, so it's quite disappointing to experience this especially after the renovations.

Had several hours to wait for plane home, so decided to give an escape room a go.
Have played a few times but this was great as had several challenges and many levels for different size groups,

Great fun, great puzzles and a great fun way to work together on interesting mystery.

Would highly recommend.

Sometimes we are lost in life, but if you believe yourself you can escape.
This is my first time play the escape games in Hong Kong, we choose the theme - Aokigahara, Time: 45 mins, difficulty level 3/5, participants: 7 peoples,
Firstly, the staff will introduce the game and we get 5 tips.
There are a lot of stages in a small room, we managed to escape one by one, this activity can clearly know the different personalities and advantages of your teammates, It is a difficult to see the performance of chatting with friends in the life.
The last step in the escape is the most difficult, and we spent a lot of time to trial. Finally, we can escape even though times up. This is a great moment to build friendship and trust each other.

Interesting story and it is a very creative escape room. But sometimes it is hard to figure out the right way to solve. Must have more training to succeed one day !

This is my first time playing escape game in Hong Kong and it turned out to be a great experience!
.
I went to Lost HK with 3 of my friends and we chose “Stolen” room this time. The story is about a theft in a museum and we had to solve the crime case to get out of the room. It’s not scary so you can pay full attention on the puzzles.
.
45 minutes passed very fast and we were unable to escape from the room eventually. Haha :)
.
Overall, it’s a good experience! The staff was super friendly and helpful when we asked for tips. The design of puzzles and tricks were very detailed. Totally recommend for friends and family!

Well, we found the 3/5 difficulty-rated ‘Aokigahara’ game very difficult and only had about 4 minutes before we would have been locked in. Really fun though!
