The area
Neighbourhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

We attended the flower show on our last day in Hong Kong as we had to head to the airport in the afternoon and couldn’t plan a day trip. Admission was very inexpensive, and if you are over 60 you get in free. The show was in Victoria Park, which was easily accessible from the MTR.

There were so many beautiful displays at every turn. There were different types of displays, for the different types of design contests. There were booths selling flowers and other gardening items. The orchids had such vibrant colors. I saved money since I couldn’t bring flowers back to the US!

There were many photo opportunities, but go early to avoid crowds. The day we were there there seemed to be many school groups. There was an area where you could get drinks and snacks, but we didn’t check it out.

Was a great way to spend a few hours.

My understanding is that this is an annual flower show (always around Mar timeframe). This is the second time that I visited, and its still great. Lots to see.

Not that the admission was much to start with, but if you're 60 or older, you get in for free.

And if you get tired of walking and looking, there's an area available for snacks and drinks.

It's the 3rd time visiting this annual event!Always held in March & its the best time of the year- spring! This year theme is ROSE,so a lot of roses are added in the displays. Of course there are other flowers as well.Good for flower lovers but be aware of the huge crowd, the park is totally packed with students(any ages),elderly & group visit from different organisations. The authority should have a better control of the no of people visiting the park !

More like a fair of snacks instead of a flower show. Not enlightening, and even of poor taste. I haven't seen such low quality flower show before

We visited the Flower Show in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong in March, 2015. There was an excellent display of blooms; we particularly enjoyed the orchids which were wonderful. There was something to delight everyone, particularly the children. As we are both over 60, we did not have to pay an entrance fee, which was a real bonus, as we found Hong Kong to be quite expensive. If you are in Hong Kong next March, make sure you visit the Flower Show in Victoria Park - you will be amazed at the displays and the atmosphere. The hard work which goes into this show is much appreciated by all visitors, old and young alike.

Held in March each year in Victoria Park, the show was good for all types of visits: couples, family with young children, teens, friends or solo. One can move freely around without being jostled. There you can take pictures, draw, leisurely look at the flowers, learn the names of the plants or help your young ones to learn the names. The displays are flowering organizations, the 18 district representatives in Hong Kong, city municipals from China, representatives from some countries like Holland (with their tulips) and surprisingly, some government departments too. Here you can see many different kinds of flowers in many different colors and organized in different ways - animals, carton characters, gardens, and get inspiration how you can decorate your living area too.

Visited this flower show on two occasions. It is an annual event that happens over two weeks in the month of March. If you are interested in nature and specifically flora-fauna, it is definitely recommended. Also a must visit for any macro photographer, you will thoroughly enjoy it!

Great fun. The flower show is definitely not Chelsea, but the displays are an interesting mix of professional and amateur, and reveal widely different tastes in floral design that while sometimes not to ones own, are always entertaining.

I would prefer Yau Ma Tei for the CNY ---- amazing flowers everywhere and so many people carrying flowers on the MTR and in the streets .
