The area
Neighbourhood: Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.

Always be prepared for an epic party in this bar, which tastefully decorated with a Native American decor and tucked away on the second floor above Al's Diner. It's a one-off in HK: the staff are great fun, they play eclectic tunes and there is a terrace overlooking the street - good for people watching.Friendly atmosphere, lots of foreigners come through this place. Not pretentious or frou-frou and the drinks are always good.
Geronimo can be empty one minute and packed the next. It's nice for a quiet drink but beware the special drum above the bar! When you bang the drum, you buy EVERYBODY in the bar a shot. It happens often.

Many a girls weekend and always a trip to Geronimo Shot bar. It's tricky to find because it is an upstairs location without direct street access. Probably what makes a little more local. Great music and people. A party waiting to happen!

Even being out in Hong Kong by yourself, this is definitely one of the places to visit! The place is not too crowded (for a Tuesday evening), but you get easily into conversations with the people around if you like too. The staff is super helpful and chatty! The Caipirinha is fantastic, even though I've been told by the bartender/owner that it's been the first one he has made in more than a year!
I would recommend this place in case you're looking for some nice place to hang out in LKF before going clubbing - or you might even spend the whole evening here getting caught up in conversations : )

We took some customers here while we were in town and we all loved it. The music's cool, the bar staff are helpful and professional, and the ambience is awesome. The drinks are reasonably priced and the proceeds from the 'shot drum' (if you hit it, you buy a shot for everyone in the bar) definitely helped oil the conversation! Don't be put off by the ropey looking elevator - Geronimo is very much worth a visit. Great for people watching from the terrace, too.

Finding your way to Geronimo shot bar, through an unlikely neon lit hallway nestled beside Al's Diner, is a bit of a voyage into the unknown; however a voyage well worth embarking on. Unusual for Lan Kwai Fong this niche bar has just the right combination of superb personalised service, excellent playlists that seem to mirror the mood of the crowd, a great clientele and without doubt some of the best shots in HK. Don't be put off though if shots aren't your preference, the bar tenders are great at mixing up classic and one off drinks on request. The bar itself has a comfortable, friendly atmosphere - from being greeted when you first arrive, to being on first name terms with the staff by the time you roll out a few hours later. You will also likely to meet some of the 'regulars' patrons who are recognisable by their names on the Big Chief leader board, their genorosity in banging the drum and buying shots immortalised. This bar is what LKF and HK has needed for a while, a local in the heart of the action, a very welcome addition to the area.

Terrible experience. Extremely rude staff and bouncers, according to rules, they wanted to see my HKID before entry, I was not carrying my wallet because well its 2023 and everything is digitised and its risky to carry wallets in LKF area. I showed them my HKID through the OFFICIAL iAMSmart app of HK government, they just wanted to act senseless and rude and didn't accept that and didn't let me enter the bar whereas other girls who were entering the bar at the same time as me were allowed in without even checking their HKID. I offered to show them every document possible, my passport, HKID etc. but they just didn't let me in. They had to spoil our night, we were 10 people and all of my other friends showed physical HKID, but just because I was showing digital HKID, they didn't let me in. Guys grow up and update yourselves, its 2023 and the world is getting digital. Be a bit kind and courteous to your customers.

Amazing atmosphere, super friendly staff and the drinks are strong so watch out :) but be aware that it's on the 2nd floor of a building known as the "winner building" on D'Agular street in Lan Kwai Fong so it can be a little bit of a challenge to find. The entrance to the building is in between two bars known as "Metro" and "Zinc". Just jump in the right elevator and go to the second floor.

I went with 2 other girls and a guy. Soon as we got there and sat on the bar seats, this *sshole staff grabbed my chair I was sitting on. I complained and he said, “You want a chair, I’ll give you a chair.” He gave me back the chair and said, ‘here’s your chair Princess.’ I let it go thinking he was just a regular jerk tired for the night. Funny thing is the couple beside us had chairs they weren’t using and he didn’t get those. He had to get all 3 of ours.

After an hour, he wanted to again get the single chair he gave back, and my friend said, “No, I’ll use it.” And she sat on it but the idiot staff kept getting the chair for absolutely no reason. My guy friend tried to reason with him but he suddenly started violently throwing my friend out of the bar and we all panicked. Another idiot staff helped him shove us out without even asking what happened. I can’t believe that a bouncer would fight with girls and even hurt them. My friend’s necklace broke and I went home with scratches and bruises.

The bouncer in the front was nice enough to grab all our stuff-including the ones that flew around the plane like the necklace and a cap. We figured the ‘sshole staff just didn’t want 2 Filipinos and 2 Chinese in their bar. We were decently dressed and did not cause any disturbance to anyone. We weren’t even drunk. We were just drinking and dancing like everyone else. He had no reason to throw us out and do it so violently.

As with so many bars around here, you have to know where to look as it’s not on street level, and its balcony has a good view of the madness below. This place is definitely worth finding as it has a great atmosphere and they were quite liberal with the spirits being poured. A few free shots too!
