The area
Neighbourhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

Hysan place is being more comprehensive? I feel like there are not many restaurant choices before the basement food court opened, there are more dinning choices now.

Although Hong Kong malls are quite similar, it's quite rare to find small businesses in a mall like Hysan Place. If you like to explore local/ handmade shop, this is the place for you in causeway bay.

Have not been here for 5 years and found that the shops were still there but not the crowds. We went back twice as need an Apple item.
Still if you want up market brands and a clean bathroom this is an excellent shopping place in the centre of the Causeway bay area.

A lot of interesting stores and nice cafe. You may chill out in Eslite and shop around. There is also a bakery studio that allows couples and family to bake cake. The price is not expensive and you will likely get what you want here.

Hysan Place by Lee Gardens has been around nearly 10 years now. This is one of Hong Kong's 'vertical shopping malls' which are basically tall malls with numerous floors that are narrow with just a handful of shops on each level. The mall is a popular fixture on the shopping trail in Causeway Bay and remains a very busy place particularly on weekends.

Here you will find a large T Gallery by DFS (B-GF), Apple outlet (GF) and the flagship eslite bookstore (8-10F) as well as a range of local, mid-range and with a few higher end brand named retailers. Similarly, Food, drink and dining options are almost exclusively local and casual, no fine dining or Michelin dining here at Hysan. It is an accessible range of shops offered at Hysan while they keep the higher end names at their Lee Gardens buildings 1-6 just up the road.

Note: There is an outdoor Sky Garden on the 4th floor. This is a nice place to take a coffee or yoghurt dessert from Smile (5F) and get away from the crowded floors if visiting on a weekend of public holiday.

Note: Hysan Place is accessible from Causeway Bay MTR Station exits F1 and F2 and is right across the street from the exit D2 in front of the SOGO Department Store.

Nice to shop but terrible if you want to use the WC, specially now that there's so many people on holiday (Chinese New Year). Really Hysan Management? I'm on the 8th floor and I was told I have to go on the 4th because 8, 7 and 6 are under construction at a time like this?

Hysan Place is a nice mall in the heart of of crowded Causeway Bay. There are some eateries and shops, mainly focusing on the younger generations, not full of luxury shops like many other malls but more main stream and boutique brands, plus an Apple shop on the ground floor. A good place to stop by when in Causeway Bay but not a must visit.
