I visited Horizon plaza to look for my new house, great interior items like curtain, photo-frame, fragrances, artificial flowers. It had such a diverse brands from french antique to modern style. At a glance, it looked all luxury brands but there were so many unique items that I could not find at any other places, with very good quality at reasonable price! This is definitely a go to place if you are looking for unique gift for your friends and home decorations! My best picks were on 10th and 16th floor

Horizon Plaza is at outlet mall at Ap Lai Chau that is popular with local and tourist shoppers. In the past this place was a bit difficult to reach from the city, most using taxi service. However, since the MTR line was expanded to reach nearby South Horizons (South Island Line). You can actually take the metro and just walk 10 minutes distance from the any of the three MTR Exits there.

What you will find here is an old factory building that was repurposed into a 25 floor outlet mall, providing over 500K sq ft of shopping space occupied by over 100 different shops and outlet stores selling furniture, interior design and loads of fashion and lifestyle products.

Note: The ground floor is just furniture shops. This is what you will see upon arrival at Horizon Plaza. The popular high-end retailers take up space on the upper floors. When you go into the main entrance you will quickly spot the long shop directory past the assistance desk, where you can look up the floor location of the particular shops that you are most interested in seeing.

Note: Probably best to have an idea of what shops you are targeting so you can game plan a bit before starting as the lifts can be really slow going up and down, particularly on weekends and public holidays. Some recommend taking lift to the highest floor and using the stairs to make your way down when more convenient than waiting for lift service. This makes a lot of sense if you have a handful of different places you want to visit across various floors. If you are only here for one or two places, just using the lift may still be your best option.

In the end, lots of outlet with quality product lines available at Horizon Plaza for those that enjoy this type of shopping. Just remember to have an idea of what you are looking for so you can maximise your time here. Further, if you are just wanting more general shopping, there are endless malls, centres and street and outdoor markets throughout the city, no need to come all the way out here to Horizon Plaza.

This is a large outlet shopping centre with fashion, furniture and homeware stores. All of the stores are genuine. There are no fakes or copies here and prices are fixed so there’s no bargaining.
Discounts are significant (mostly around 50 - 75%) but sizes are limited. The brands are mostly high-end (Armani, Chloe, Marni, Marimekko, Hugo Boss, Yves St Laurent, Max Mara, Ralph Lauren, Shanghai Tang) so they are still expensive. Max Mara usually has a big range of winter coats and there is a large Lane Crawford, which always looks like a jumble-sale but, with a little perseverance, you can find great bargains. Pleasingly, most of the stores have change rooms which is not always the case at outlet centres.
On the downside, the centre is difficult to navigate. It’s more like a factory building than a shopping mall so its a bit dingy and drab. It can also be frustrating and time-consuming to try to make your way around it. Overall, if you only have a couple of days in Hong Kong, it will not be worth your time to go here.
There are 2 things that we find helpful when shopping here:
i) The first is to stop at the main desk on the street entry level and pick up a floor-map. I do this every single time. It’s pretty much essential because the layout is haphazard and it’s easy to get confused.
ii) The second thing is to start at the top floor and work your way down. This is because the lifts are slow and do not stop at every floor (they only do odd or even numbers). It’s easier if you use the service lift instead of the customer lift but we generally find it quickest to take the stairs to get down to the floors we want to go to. Each floor is quite small so use the map to target what you want and skip any floors that don’t interest you.
If you need a break while shopping, there aren’t many options. The Tree Cafe on 28F is OK. I’ve had a soup and a bread roll there a couple of times. It’s pretty basic but it serves the purpose when you need to take time out and sit down.
GETTING THERE: A taxi from Central is about $200HKD. By public transport, take the MTR train to South Horizons (exit C) and then it’s a taxi or a 15 min walk.

Directions : From bus stop in front of Cofco Tower at Wan Chai, take bus #671, about 30 mins ride to the place itself.

Not many shops, 27 levels with just 4-5 shops per level, ranging from apparel to shoes and toys. Mostly luxury, high street fashion, the likes of Ferragamo, Chloé, Kate Spade and others.

It was an interesting concept, gathering them all in an industrial park like building. You see none of these brands from the outside, the entire building doesn’t look the least bit like a shopping area. There are also no dining options available here, so don’t expect to have a cafe to rest the feet or fill the tummy.

Even toilets here are oddly split by gender on alternate floors – gents on the odd and ladies on the even.

Most items are discounted, some as much as 70% off. We spent an hour circling, targeting a few levels with boutiques that we were specifically looking for, but left empty handed eventually. Suggest one checks out the directory in advance before coming. And take the lift to the highest level and work downwards by the stairs.

The way back is on the same bus from opposite side of the road where you alight. Note the bus comes only every half hour, so time it well so you don't have to stand by the kerb like we did.

In most shops the biggest shoes were size 39. The majority of the clothes were size Au8 or smaller (I did see a few Au 10s / Us4). Prices were similar, if not more expensive than DFO Homebush in Sydney. We spent 4 hours here and didn’t buy anything. Men’s Hugo boss suits were more than double the price my husband paid in Los Angeles a few months ago.

One of our favourite outlet malls. This trip, a lot of the stores seemed to have many more women’s clothing than men’s. Stock also seemed a bit low...we may try back later in the week.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting for elevators or taking stairs...and going in the morning is certainly better than the afternoon!

Perhaps for the locals, this Plaza has great prices but for outsiders from Europe or North America, it does not seem to be worth it. The trip is not long to get to this place from central HK, by bus, taxi or MTR, but better prices can be found elsewhere. Fashion is on different floors from furniture and other things but the elevators are confusing, and all the shops tend to boast the same sort of discounts...which may not be real reductions if the prices were set higher in the first place. Beware shoppers...this is not for tourists but rather for mainland shoppers who come in droves to buy western products at what they think are reduced prices...cheaper than an air ticket further away for them.

I found some of the stores interesting.
Beside the discount the clothes had, they had a separate discount if you bought 2 pieces(most of the stores had this discount).
There were many stores that had a variety of international brands:I.T.,Pompei etc(dsquared2,fendi,valentino, dolce&gabbana, elizabeta franchi, etc)
Program:10-19 every day.We went on sunday and it had the same program.
The elevator was a little bit tricky, they had an odd and even elevator. And always was coming the wrong elevator. We took the stairs.
I uploaded a few photos with some brands.

On sunday, 27 Jan 2019, I went to Horizon Plaza, hoping to have a good view of various products. To my great disappointment, all shops on the ground floor are closed. I could only peek through the glass windows. Thereby, I had no interest to walk to upper floors as my mood was totally shut down.
