The area
Neighbourhood: Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.

Have lunch at Chinesology, a new Chinese restaurant at 3/F. Love their team spirit during this difficult time. All dishes are flavored with fresh ingredients and well presented.

IFC is a luxury and high-end shopping mall in Central District that has an interesting Orient Express themed Christmas decoration programme for the 2021 holiday season. There are a few smaller displays scattered around the mall. However, the main display area is found in the oval atrium area.
What you find here is a make-shift train station with ticket collection booth, platform as well as a train engine and carriage car. Some history of the Orient Express exhibited at the back of the station for the history buffs.
Overall, this is a pretty good change of pace from the traditional Christmas themes and decorations they've done in past years. It is worth a look-see if you plan to be at IFC between now and the end of the holiday season.

One thing Hong Kong is not short of is shopping centres. This one is very centrally located, near the Star Ferry and above Hong Kong Airport Express Station and MTR. It covers 4 floors with mostly high end shopping, that seems to focus mainly on fashion, jewellery and cosmetics. There’s Prada, Kate Spade, Burberry, Coach, Tiffanys and Rolex but also a big Zara and Nine West. A large flagship Lane Crawford covers a couple of levels.
Sportswear seems to be a bit of a gap here. Whilst there are a couple of shops like Sweaty Betty that do active wear, the big brand running shoes are missing.
The Apple store is impressive, with glass walls that look down over the Hong Kong Eye and I like the cinema here. There are a number of nice restaurants on Level 3, so it’s easy to go for dinner after a movie. The Level 3 restaurants have outdoor decks and views across the harbour to TST.
If you have kids with you, there is the obligatory McDonalds and Pret A Manger but up on Level 4 is a big Shake Shack with a large open outdoor eating area and a great view.
The other very handy thing here is City’Super, a very nice (albeit very expensive) supermarket. It carries a large range of Western and international goods, stocks fresh fruit and vegetables, has a decent bakery and there’s a takeaway deli/food bar out the front that always seems to have a queue.
Overall this is a very attractive shopping mall mainly because it is so spacious and bright. This is probably the best thing about it. Even if you are just looking for somewhere to get out of the heat for a while, this is not a bad place to head to.

This shopping mall fails to excite me. Location is good near star ferry and hk station. It has several floors with restaurants (normally quite pricey), a department store, cinema, coffee shops, supermarket, plenty of beauty shops and some high end stores.
It is very airy and bright.
If you are nearby you can walk pass and check it out. However it is not worth it to go out of your way to see what is there.

A higher end mall located in the financial district. IFC stand for International finance centre.
One of the biggest draws of this mall is the Apple store.
You can easily access this mall by MTR and getting off either at central or Hong kong station.
The mall has free WiFi, umbrella lending and mobile battery charging and other complimentary services.

I am here everyday as my office is in the complex. Very clean and well kept. Whatever vendor options are here you can assume are expensive.
Conveniently located to the MTR and Airport Express. If you work in the complex, you can get everything you need done here except for dry-cleaning or laundry service.

IFC is spotlessly clean. No vibe of Hong Kong inside. Elitists from anywhere in the world would feel right at home.

One of the more expensive places to shop in Hong Kong. The mall has several floors and (overpriced) rooftop bars. There is a subway station in the building.

We came here to admire the huge towers, that are really impressive. You can acess the 'roof terrace' of the actual mall and look up at the towers. Although most of the shops here are quite luxurious, its a nice place to grab a tea/coffee. Just outside of the mall is exchange square which has some nice sculptures incuding one by Henry Moore.

I suggest that you go there by train. It'll be more convenient.
Здравствуйте, где-то было упоминание что на крыше молла есть открытая зона для отдыха и перекуса. Сложно ли найти доступ на крышу?

Given that you will arrive in Kowloon all you need to do is catch the MTR to Central and when you exit with the aid of well signposted passages you should get to IFC without too much trouble. If lost you can ask the help desk at the MTR or most locals who are English speaking to some degree.

If you take the ferry, the ferry terminal is 100m from IFC mall.
Is this place right at the very top of IFC? or is it the one that you can by taking the lift to P4? I think this one is just on the 4th or 5th floor isnt it?

Isola to me is so-so, at least the few times I was there the food was inconsistent and service was not great. There's RED Bar & Restaurant ( on IFC 4/F with outdoor seating ) that is not exactly Italian - Italian but fusion Italian where the food, view ( go at night for stunning night view ) , service are a lot better.
