This is a popular viewing area with two levels available. It can be very busy at times, especially on weekends and holidays. The views available from these vantage points are beautiful day or night. Best of all is there is no fee for this viewing area. It's a gr at spot to get a sweeping view if Hong Kong island, Victoria Harbour and across to the Kowloon Peninsula. In the evening the city lights paint a spectacular scene that begs to be captured by a camera.

It has been more than 5 years since we last came to the Peak, including the no-travel Covid years. And going up the Peak is definitely in our Agenda!
We normally take the public bus up here, cheaper, last jammed and also good view along the way. Up here there are a few go-to places and one of the them will be the Lion’s Pavilion. Conspicuous with its bright red moon gate and the wonderful par anomic view behind as background. There are inscription of the Taiping Mountain Lion Pavilion on it, symbolic of the spot’s name. It offers the same aerial view of the Hong Kong Skyline and Victoria Harbour as the Peak Tower.
Just a short stop for IG and photo-taking afterwhich one can return to the Peak galleria or venture further explore nearby nature trails.

The Peak tram ride & panoramic views are on the shortlist of the list of 'things to do' for most Hong Kong tourists. Many people make a beeline for the Peak Tower and pay for the Sky Terrace to see the view (it’s often sold as a combo ticket with the Peak tram). However, an alternate free option is the Lions Pavilion, where you will get the same bird’s eye view over central Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour. The pavilion sits beside the Peak Tower, just below Pacific Coffee, and has a couple of viewing platforms.
It doesn't have have the 360 degree views that you get on the Sky Terrace and it can be crowded because it is a smaller space but at the end of the day, you can pay up to $52HKD for the Sky Terrace view or you can get the same stunning view over Central and city skyline at the Lion Pavilion for free.
A lovely feature of the pavilion (and the thing that I like best) is the circular entrance. Your first sight of famous view is framed by the round doorway.

Just three minutes walk from the Peak Tower. Exit at Pacific Coffee. Local Lions CLub erected this pavilion over a promontory affording an especially nice view of Hong Kong. It is all free. It can get a bit crowded afternoons and weekends. No smoking allowed in or on Pavilion grounds

The Lion's Pavilion is a multiple-level viewpoint you will find just one minute walk from Peak Tower. This is a free place to visit and also where you find some of the very best views of Victoria Harbour as well as the Hong Kong and Kowloon skylines.
This structure here is designed with simple Chinese architecture featuring a traditional moon gate entrance, a small traditional pavilion and a series of small terrace sections, seemingly cobbled together alongside Findlay Road. You'll also see a handful of small lion statues mounted around the terraces.
In the end, the Lion Pavilion is a neat place, conveniently located and easy to appreciate given that it is free for everyone to use to see outstanding views over Victoria Harbour.

If you get to the pavilion early in the morning then it is quiet enough to take some nice shots without too many people. You will see the odd person doing Tai Chi which adds to the atmosphere.
A very relaxing place to gather your thoughts while looking out over beautiful HongKong.

Even though it was not a perfectly clear day, we thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular views from the lions pavilion at Victoria Peak. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful observation spot and taking in the scenery. We felt it worth a visit.

Whether you take the tram, bus or taxi to the Peak, the view is superb of Victoria Harbour. The day view is great with a clear day to see TST. The view of the nightlights are even better in the evening.

What is the best way to get here if I start at Central Station via MTR?

When you exit Central MTR follow the signs towards Hong Kong MTR, I think we walked through a tunnel or over a pedestrian footbridge. You do not go all the way to Hong Kong MTR you need to exit towards "Exchange Square". It is to your left as you walk from Central MTR towards Hong Kong MTR. Exchange Square is an undercover Bus Terminus. You catch Bus 15 to The Peak. The bus drops you under the Galleria Shopping Centre right at The Peak. You need the exact change or use the Octopus Card - it is really simple to use.You load it with funds as you need.
hello. can you walk up here? or do you get off on the peak tram? thanks

You can walk, it'll takes about 90 minutes. Take the Mid-Level Escalators, it brings you, as its name suggests, to the mid level (passing SoHo, great). From the terminus you can walk :-)
