One of the most interesting historical buildings along the self-guided Wanchai Heritage Trail is this old verandah style shophouse (also know as The Pawn) on Johnston Road in Wanchai. This is one of HK's iconic historical buildings and is stop 7 on the trail. What you will see is an early 20th-century cluster of old Chinese shophouses with a beautifully restored exterior featuring deep curved verandahs. The building had a long history as a Pawn Shop, which is also the name of the main restaurant that now makes use of the property, serving up British gastropub dining and cuisine. There is also an Italian place on the ground floor. You can spend a few minutes enjoying the exterior of the historic 60a-66 Johnston Road shophouse building or have a meal or drink here if you want to have a look at its restored interior. Then carry on with the Wanchai Heritage Trail or other intended sightseeing you have in this area of the city.
