Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area
Neighbourhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.

On the Weekends after 12 Noon the Bar 109 is closed to normal business dealings - yet In 2016-2019 it was the Place to go for hooking up with some nice lady's for fun times - WOW the enjoyment I experienced there will never be forgotten 3 girls all to myself ( Indonesia, Thai, Filipina, Malaysia, and other foreign lady's ) - What a trip - - Yummy Times were had. Not sure if it is still the same as before due to Covid Lockdowns.

Please stay away from this bar, they spike your drinks and then charge obscene amounts to your credit card

Husband and I are fairly new to HK and initially visited several sports bars looking for the Australian A League with sound. This was the only bar who were happy to do that each week and this has now become our go-to bar for all sports.

Raj, Sarah and the team go out of their way to show any requested sport when possible. Great for watching the World Cup. Good prices and always a friendly welcome. Good music too.

An oasis in Wanchai!

Check your bills very carefully before agreeing to anything. The unwary are very quickly parted from their money, as I was.

109 is along the stretch of bars in Wan Chai that can be classed generally as "ex pat". What it offers if a long thin bar with one of the biggest sports screens in the road, plus several others, and a "smoking" room at the rear. It's standard fodder except for the screen, and worth noting on the Sunday afternoons it becomes a busy music bar for the working people's break day.

The main thing to note is that, although they list all Australian football matches on their website, they won't actually be able to show them unless they're on Australia Plus or Channel 9 (I think Eastside Tavern does the same thing). Apart from not seeing the game, I was there on a Saturday afternoon with no one but a prostitute (who was quite friendly). Happy hour prices did not seem great and nearby bars were much busier.
