This is a loop trail that circles Peng Chau Island. It is around 7km in distance and is an easy, family-friendly walk that covers coastal areas, beaches, wetlands and organic farms, village area and includes some interesting historical attractions to see throughout. Best to allow at least 2 hours if you plan to hike non-stop. If you want to go a bit more leisurely, allow 3.5-4 hours including a stop for a bite to eat in the village. The trail is very well paved throughout, there are shelters along the northern Peng Yu Path section of the trail as well as a elevated pavilion lookout in the north and at Finger Hill, the highest peak on Peng Chau at 90 metres in the southern section of the island. You'll find directions to various landmarks and attractions throughout. However, it is still helpful to download the Peng Chau Island Trail information onto your mobile phone before setting off. During the trail you will encounter a few minor temples, old industry structures, some residential areas and fantastic isolated standing boulders on the far side of Old Fisherman's Rock in the northeast corner of the island. Note, you can buy water and snacks at the Welcomme supermarket or at a handful of local shops you'll find in the small village area just outside the main ferry pier. Make sure to bring a hat and apply plenty of sunscreen as many of the trail sections lack shade. Then, just enjoy the quiet, less crowded, rural retreat of Peng Chau.…
