I booked a half day cookery class with Bill and had a wonderful time. He very patiently chatted with me before the class to find out what I wanted to learn, and devised a special menu that really matched my interest in Cantonese cuisine. The studio itself is very modern and clean, and huge.
Bill is extremely personable, and knowledgeable. But you never feel like he's bombarding you with information. Instead, he takes you through his recipes, giving you a lot of the sort of tips and tricks you don't get in cookbooks or online - the sort of knowledge you only get from years of cooking.
I went with a friend who has less experience of Chinese cooking, and we both felt that we got a lot out of the experience, and certainly felt the enthusiasm to try out new ingredients and techniques that previously felt a little intimidating. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be booking another few classes with Bill!

We had a great cooking class with Bill! His cooking studio is commercial quality, and everything is prepared out and nicely organized for us to you. The food was delicious and easy. He had answers to all our questions on the Chinese ingrediants we hadn't seen before.

What a great experience! Bill was a great instructor and just a great guy in general to talk with about his story, his passion for food and Hong Kong. He taught each step of the recipe thoroughly and let us cook and the taste of our labour as well. Highly recommended for a date activity, or even corporate event.

Bill was a passionate and knowledgeable teacher! We had a great time learning to cook a number of classic Chinese dishes - both through the demonstrations and a hands on opportunity taking over the wok. The audio was very impressive - clean and full of all the modern equipment you’d need. Looking forward to coming back to learn some new dishes and styles of cooking. Thanks Bill!

The instructor was very knowledgable and easy to talk to. He was very nice about making sure the menu we learned would be food that interests us and even showed us some of his personal food experiments! My girlfriend and I had a great time learning to cook Chinese food :)

We had the pleasure of having a cooking class with Pots N Pans. We had an awesome time and would highly recommend it. Some of the dishes we prepared l would never have thought we could pull off but with the expert advice given it was an achievable task. Looking forward to coming back again!

For Fathers day my wife purchased a cooking experience at PnP and it was such a nice time. The whole time was just pleasant. Bill walked us through some dishes as a demo then we cooked them on our own with his oversight. We chose sichuan cuisine and made spicy sour soup, kung pao chicken and steamed shrimp. Everything was amazing. I'm confident I can repeat the dishes at home and modify them as I want. Most of all Bill (the owner/host) offered sound cooking instruction and was easy to talk to about anything. If you do this, you won't regret it.

Eva and Chris, I am so glad things worked out so well. With the social distancing and lock down, we totally enjoyed the resemblances of normalcy during our class, which we haven't done often enough these days. Come back with the kids and we can do pork dumplings together! Take care!

I recently had the chance to go to Pots n Pans Cooking Studio for a cooking workshop as a birthday present. I work in Hong Kong and haven't been able to travel home in the summer, so my partner in the US bought me a Chinese cooking class at Pots n Pans to enjoy while I'm here. I went along with a friend for a roughly four-hour cooking experience, ably directed by Bill, the owner of Pots n Pans, who showed us how to cook some Chinese classics. We were originally hoping to go on the wet market tour as well, but unfortunately the weather was so bad that we had to skip that. Nonetheless, Bill made up for it by extending the class and throwing in an extra snack to try.
The class itself took place in Bill's cooking studio, which is a lovely space, and lasted for about four hours. During that time we learned how to make pork dumplings, hot and sour soup, and kung pao chicken, which were all delicious! Bill was an excellent host; not only did he do a great job of explaining the cuisine, but he also told us some fascinating stories about himself and Hong Kong. We then got to eat the food that we had made and take the leftovers home with us. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in food who is in Hong Kong as a tourist or a resident.

James, you and Stuart are most welcomed. I enjoyed our chats we had covering so many different topics. I suppose you guys will be in HK for the next year or two. Stop by one of these days and we can do the wet market tour if you guys so wish! Take care!
Best regards,
Bill

I often try a walking/streetfood tour when I come to a new city, or a new part of a familiar city for more than a day or two. This time I tried a cooking class.
It was a great choice. Bill was fun, funny, and thoughtfully talked about life in Hong Kong as well as food. He took us on a walking tour of the markets and we asked lots of questions as he purchased some things for our class. The studio is quite beautiful, it looks like it could be a set for a show - but the brick wall and his manner made it feel intimate for the three of us. It was very clean and organized, and the part we used made it feel more like a kitchen than a restaurant.
He demonstrated recipes and we tried them, then we all made them. It was a great way to learn. He took the time to talk about ingredients, why he choose them and substitutes at home.
I had been planning on buying a wok and he took me to a kitchen goods store after, and then to the MTR.
Very warm and helpful as well as educational, I highly recommend.
